Relaxing Stay

Great location, right in the center of Waikiki, across Kuhio Beach. Lounge could be stocked more, especially for breakfast. They do alternate days where no protein (sausage, bacon, etc) is not served, instead it will be pancakes or waffles. So might be worth to eat out or check out the Shor Buffet. They offer free chairs, boogie board, and towel rentals which is very convenient.
Not worth staying here

It’s an old hotel with limited and poor breakfast options. Location is great but not your typical Hyatt regency. Most people that are staying here are getting Costco deals which is very cheap deals.
Double-booked Rodeo

My organization planned an event at the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki and had block of rooms for personnel attending the event and to stay. After conducting the online booking portion two months prior, we were informed at check-in that they switched my wife and I’s king bed selection to a two queen room without input or request. Once we declined, it took the receptionist another 30 minutes to check us in. After we were able to finally get into our room, another couple a few minutes later were double booked into our room. The floor man had to come in and work with the front desk to deconflict. Management never apologized or offered any explanation. The location and venue were fantastic, but it is also downtown Waikiki where it is the norm.
Definitely not the Hyatt experience I expected!

There was no lobby to relax. The pool was terrible small. There was no bar other than the pool bar. There was no lobby to just sit and relax.
Great check in experience as Hyatt Globalist
AndyC699 (WESTBOROUGH) on May 06, 2026
Grace at the Hyatt globalist check in was great. I arrived early and did not have expectations to receive a room early but she provided me with an upgrade and was able to have a room ready for me within a few short hours. There were additional small gestures that were appreciated. While I was waiting for my room to be ready, I took some time to change and returned to check in area to store my luggage. A different receptionist assisted me and informed me that I should take my luggage to the bell desk for storage which I would have been happy to comply with. However, Grace saw me when I came back to store my luggage and insisted on storing my luggage with them at the front desk and having my luggage sent to the room when it was ready. I would have been just fine with either scenario but Grace made me feel more valued.
