This has nothing to do with the Hyatt. I went to their currency changer on the second floor to obtain Yen. I was charged 100 pounds sterling and $33 for 20,000 Japanese yen. At current exchange rates, the combined pounds and dollars are worth 26,195 yen. Now I realize that these currency changers are ripoff operations, but I was looking for 20,000 yen and the loss of 6195 represents a 31% fee. Just letting you know.

We went on a great trip with family and friends to Waikiki, and the Hyatt Regency was a wonderful place to stay. KJ and the team were extremely welcoming, and we loved that the pool had beach chairs, sand toys, and even boogie boards to borrow to use at the beach. The location is so convenient that this was our second stay here.

This was my second stay at this hotel, and this time around, I had the opportunity to explore much more of the island. What an adventure that turned out to be! There’s so much to see and do, and having a hotel in such a convenient location made it even better. Overall, I had another enjoyable stay. There were definitely some highlights, along with a few areas that could use improvement. The Highlights **Spacious Suite Upgrade: I used my Suite Upgrade Award for a one-bedroom suite, and it was absolutely worth it! The layout was perfect for giving me a little privacy and personal space. The suite had a separate bedroom connected to another room with a pullout couch, and I essentially had my own sets of everything. It made the stay incredibly comfortable. **Two Balconies, Two Views: Both rooms had their own balconies with partial ocean views. It was lovely having separate outdoor spaces to enjoy the island breeze and scenery. Having a connecting door between the two bedrooms was very much needed for personal space. **Wonderful Housekeeping: The housekeeping ladies were some of the sweetest, loveliest people I encountered. My rooms were serviced daily, and their warmth and friendliness were genuinely appreciated. **Efficient Valet Service: Despite the valet area being incredibly busy and sometimes downright chaotic, I never waited more than five minutes for my vehicle. Impressive considering how much activity was happening! **Fantastic Location: One of my favorite things about this property is its location. Being within walking distance of so many restaurants, shops, attractions, and activities is a huge plus. The convenience alone makes this hotel worth considering. **Fast Elevators: The elevators were generally quick, which is always appreciated at a busy hotel. A Few Areas for Improvement **Long Wait for My Room: I arrived on Friday afternoon and waited nearly four hours for my room to be ready. Not exactly the way I wanted to start a vacation, especially after traveling. On the positive side, once the room was ready, my luggage was delivered promptly. The next day, I found a basket of snacks and fresh fruit waiting for me on the table. It was such a thoughtful touch; thank you so much! **Member’s Lounge Under Construction: Unfortunately, the Member’s Lounge was undergoing renovations during my entire stay. Refreshments were temporarily relocated to a small conference room. While I appreciated that the hotel provided an alternative, it certainly wasn’t the same experience as enjoying a dedicated lounge. **Crowded, Stuffy Elevators: Although the elevators were fast, they could get quite crowded, particularly later in the day. They also developed an unpleasant smell as the day went on. A little attention to ventilation or some subtle air fresheners would go a long way toward improving the experience. Final Thoughts Despite a few inconveniences, I genuinely enjoyed my second visit. The spacious suite, beautiful partial ocean views, friendly housekeeping staff, efficient valet team, and unbeatable location were definite highlights. What made this trip particularly memorable was getting out and exploring more of the island. Having such a convenient home base made my adventures that much easier. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! Sometimes it’s the little things that separate a good hotel experience from a great one. This property has a lot going for it, and with a few improvements, it could be even better.

Best hotel in Waikiki!! That?s why I keep coming back again and again!! Fantastic views, nice pool and hot tub. Valet parking is expensive but makes staying here easy.

Beautiful Resort and great location. Employees were friendly and helpful. Had an amazing time. Can't wait to go again.
