Two major things. 1) The hotel has a bribing culture. We did a beta test during our stay when Group A. Me and a Globalist booked an oceanfront directly vs Group B. a non-Globalist group who booked the cheapest room and gave the front desk 20 dollars as bribe for free upgrades. Group B eventually got the same room type as Group A with an even better view. No upgrade was granted during our check in process despite junior suite and the standard suite being available on the app 2) The manager Jonathan is aware of our disappointment and deliberately chose to ignore us despite the complaint we filed directly with him. To date, I have received no update email from him since my stay despite leaving my contact directly at the front desk during my check out

Great location from the beach to all the shops and restaurants near by. For food go back a street or two from the beach, lots of choices. Hotel very clean!

Our family of 3 booked two ocean view rooms for seven nights in May '26. Coincidentally, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki is celebrating its 50th anniversary. While 50 years is impressive, the hotel is showing its age and definitely need some major renovation. The carpet in our rooms were frayed and bubbled creating a safety trip hazard. The hot water system did not function properly (even after the maintenance crew attended to our concerns). They also would not honor our room credit even though the account charges clearly reflected credit until the day we checked out. After 30 years of giving them our business, we will NEVER book at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki again.

Beautiful location. Very clean with plenty to do in the hotel, across the street from the beach. Convenient parking and close to all shopping. Great view of the ocean in the King Oceanfront rooms. Very relaxing on the balcony as well.

Perfect spot if you're traveling with family. The location is hard to beat — steps from Waikiki Beach, so you're not wasting time on logistics. Regency Club lounge was a nice touch and genuinely worth it.
