Excellent family holiday at Outrigger resort. Even though the resort was under renovation, everything still ran smoothly and there were no disruptions. The staff were lovely. Troy at the valet is a treasure! So sweet, gave us excellent recommendations and every one of them was perfect! He will be missed! Definitely a great spot for a family holiday!

We work w Ricky Kuga for our reservations every year! He is phenomenal with helping us w everything from start to finish. He takes such excellent care of us. Don’t know what we would do without him! The Outrigger staff is wonderful also. Very kind and friendly. We booked our 2 weeks before we left for 2027.

Best location where you can go bare foot for a day on the beach and enjoy Dukes bar and grill. Sunset cruise cater an awaits directly in front of hotel beach. One tip if booking through travel websites is to check booking confirmation number directbwith hotel. Ours had been cancelled however eventually sorted out. Also sign up for the Outrigger Loyalty and save at a list of restaurants across their Waikiki properties.

Booked a king ocean view club room with access to the Voyager 47 club with breakfast, evening cocktails and canapés. On arrival this room was not available due to renovations on the top three floors of the hotel. Why were we not advised in advance that we could not get the room we booked? We received a generic email a few days before arrival advising, “We look forward to welcoming you to OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beach Resort, the iconic home of modern surf culture on world-famous Waikiki Beach. We are currently undertaking a series of thoughtful enhancements, designed to elevate the guest experience while staying true to the surf culture, live music and laid-back energy that define this special place. As such, select public spaces may not be fully available during your stay. Rest assured that every consideration has been made to limit activity to select times and locations to ensure that all of our valued guests will be minimally impacted during this exciting transformation.” Quite simply if we had been advised that what we booked was not available we would have cancelled the booking and found something else that suited us. We were given an ocean view king bed room on level 3 with obscured views and directly in front of the band area where at night very loud bands played until late in the evening on Friday to Sunday evenings. We were given a USD100/day food and beverage credit to compensate for the lack of acces to Voyager 47 for breakfast and evening canapés and cocktails. Which was insufficient and left us out of pocket. We were forced to use this USD100 daily credit in the hotels two restaurants, which are noisy and crowded. Additionally birds roam freely through the restaurants over tables, chairs and carpet defecating as they roam. It feels like rats running under the table and over peoples feet. The staff diligently cleaned up after the birds quickly wiping the bird feces away with a cloth and spray bottle, but then using the same cloth to clean other tables. Overall our experience at this hotel has been one of the worst we have ever experienced. We are leaving this hotel stressed, unhappy and disappointed. If you like something, tell your friends. If you don't, then tell everyone.

UNDER HEAVY RENOVATIONS THROUGH 2027! I've stayed at outriggers in Waikiki many times and this stay was awful. They are undergoing HEAVY construction (no lobby, reduced amenities, elevators constantly down) with constant drilling, demolition, and pounding noise so you can't enjoy the premises (that's all you hear if you are out by the pool or on the beachfront). When lounging close to them property like by the pool, you can always smell heavy VOC like smells (paint, solvents). We didn't even use the AC the entire time we were there because every time we put on the AC it would smell like smoke, which means they have not properly from their Central air handling and all of the construction dust gets mixed right into the air you breathe. They said they had planned fire drills on April 29 (fine) which proceeded for an hour but are easy enough to avoid. Then at 2 AM THERE WAS A FIRE DRILL with voices over the intercom saying just a drill, but WTF are we supposed to do at 2:00 a.m. woken up suddenly and evacuated the hotel half dressed with no guidance from staff, couldn't even find the stairs and ended up in the elevator to evacuate. What's worse is when we complained about the 2:00 a.m. fire drill we were totally gaslit. First the staff denied it ever happened. next the staff said it was actually a real fire alarm because of "humidity". One of the staff members was even egregious enough to say that we must have dreamed it. I felt extremely offended . Me and my family saved up for many years for this trip and the outrigger more than ruined it. Also, when checking out we discovered that our bill had items on it that we did not purchase including an internet fee (the internet is listed as part of the reason they charge a $250 resort fee! Among other amenities that were not available due to renovations... But of course they still charge the resort fee. We also found several charges from the restaurant that we did not make that we're still fighting with our bank.
