PBJAMEM Homeschool in O'Ahu

BonnieJeane L on Mar 28, 2026

Staff was very friendly. $60/night parking...$42/night destination fee...Additional fee charged by hotel if you use ubereats or doordash that I didn't know about until the bill...Weed being sold on the street below...Family felt ok on the premises of the hotel...even when the power went out twice during the storm...The pool was freezing...didn't realize that this was the Hyatt without a hottub...then the construction started on the day we were checking out...Still a good place to stay if wanting to be in Waikiki...just the area on side streets felt a little more sketchy...and be prepared for the fine print fees...Wowza

It was fine :)

We stayed here with our 3 kids ages 11, 9 and 4. This hotel is just fine if you set your expectations appropriately. Is it a fancy resort- no. Is it clean, comfortable with wonderful staff- yes. Pros: great location! Short walk to the beach, shopping & the bus stop if you want to avoid renting a car (the parking is hard to find and very expensive). You can buy buss passes at the ABC store right next door. They do have a car rental company in the lobby and you can park overnight (free) in their garage if you rent for more than one night. The rooms were clean & comfortable. The staff is so so helpful & friendly. You get stainless steel water bottles at check in and there are refill stations in the lobby. We LOVED this. You also get access to beach chairs, beach towels and boogie boards as well as a $5 credit daily per room (not per person) to use at the bar or marketplace (use or lose). These amenities are offered as party of your ~ $50/day resort fee (charged at the hotel not as part of your booking) so make sure to take full advantage! The included breakfast is definitely a perk. The offerings rotated daily and it was all kept well stocked. Cons: like many other reviewers mention the elevators are a situation here. There are 20 floors in this hotel and only 2 elevators. Breakfast is served on the 3rd floor so I’d highly suggest requesting a lower floor and using the stairs. The elevators also require a keycard scan to select a floor and the buttons are only on one side of the elevator. It’s a logistical nightmare. Sadly, I don’t think there’s much they could do to alleviate this con, but just be aware. If you are heading somewhere give yourself 15 min extra for the wait. The marketplace downstairs to spend your $5 is stocked like a rinky dink vending machine. Skittles, Reeses, a prepackage muffin or two. Some coconut water and juice. You can use it at the bar too, but I wasn’t interested in spending any more time in that lobby in addition to waiting for the elevator. The pool was clean but very very small. No slides or anything extra. Literally just a pool. Also, it’s located alongside the outdoor breakfast area with no fence or anything around it. So, if you have small curious children you will need to be on full alert during breakfast. The fitness area was sufficient. One peloton, a couple treadmills, free weights and a cable machine. Bathroom inside the fitness area. Water refill station available & the dreaded cone cups if you forget your water bottle. No towels & no yoga mats. Would be nice & easy to add both of these. There is a door to the breakfast area opposite side of the gym. Many people used the gym as a pass through to breakfast instead of walking around past the pool. The gym is not large so having a constant stream of people walking through who weren’t there to workout was an interesting added obstacle. Better signage when coming off the elevator might help. Overall, our stay was good!

Comfortable stay and great location

Dramane K on Mar 27, 2026

We had a really good stay at this hotel in Waikiki. The location was perfect just a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops, which made everything very convenient. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed being able to step out and be close to the ocean and all the activity around Waikiki. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything, and check-in/check-out was smooth. It was a nice place to come back to after a full day of exploring the island. Overall, we had a relaxing stay and really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Waikiki and would stay here again.

Good location, not so great amenities.

Amanda S on Mar 24, 2026

The location was great- not in the real business of Waikiki, close to the zoo, beach and restaurants. It is a dated hotel- elevator ways took a while. Breakfast was less than ideal- one day was prepackaged Jimmy Dean sandwiches.

not worth to stay

The M floor looks like garage. It's not comfortable. There are lots of cargo on the front of elevator. Also the toilet was broken, they didn't check.
