Active Advisories
Following American Hotel & Lodging Association's (AHLA) recent announcement of its "Safe Stay Guest Checklist"—and following medical expert guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19—all Hyatt hotels in the U.S. and Canada will require face coverings within indoor public areas beginning Monday, July 27, for the foreseeable future.
Public areas may include hotel lobbies, meetings and events spaces, restaurants and bars, and fitness centers. Some guests may be exempt from this mandate, including but not limited to guests with medical conditions, guests consuming food or beverages in restaurants, and children under the age of 2.

Close to Waikiki Beach and Friendly Staff
TeamTex (Houston, Texas) on Jan 16, 2025
The Hyatt Place is located about two blocks from Waikiki Beach, which is close enough to enjoy the beach. The staff were all friendly and they gave us a room looking at the ocean. The bellman saw us coming to the curb and came to help us with our luggage with a smile. They also gave us a free appetizer coupon at Tiki’s which was excellent food while we watched the sun set.
Breakfast is for the birds!
1NicePerson (USA) on Jan 15, 2025
A great place to stay, but the breakfast is for the birds, literally! There are signs saying "Please Do Not Feed The Birds." You don't have to. The birds serve themselves! I took some eggs and other food to a table and went back to get coffee and utensils. In the few seconds after I stepped away, about 4-5 birds landed on the table and enjoyed my breakfast. The obvious solution is to construct wire caging around the area (including ceiling) as they do at Hilton Hawaiian Village and Hale Koa. If that's not in Hyatt's budget, there should be trays available so that solo diners can bring everything to the table at one time, and not leave for any reason whatsoever. In truth, I took two breakfasts after my first one was consumed by the local birds. Apart from breakfast challenges, especially for solo travelers, this is a great place to stay!
