Turtles paradise

Amazing location, we snorkeled with so many turtles. Many restaurants in walking distance! Especially the food truck where we ate everyday!
I feel like I have a secret

The Aston Mahana may be my new favorite secret. This place has everything I need for a Maui vacation. First off, the location, Right at the top of Kaanapali resrot row, it stays tukced away while being right on the beach with an easy walk to the Times Market, food trucks (open at 5pm) and several restaurants. It's so quiet, I didn't even know we had any neighbors around us. Rooms are clean and had just about everything you need. Kitchens let us make food to spend more time watching the turtles play in the waves. Great pool at the perfect temp, excellent grills for cooking, and a fantastic lanai for catching the amazing sunsets. A great value and a great stay - we will be returning.

Small town Hawaiian vibe
SocaliScan (socali) on Nov 01, 2025
this is our second stay at this location. We like the small town feel to this place. you walk around and you feel the true island vibe. It was one of the main reasons we stayed here again. The property itself is beautiful and very quiet. The ocean front views are wonderful. we will certainly stay here again.
Watch out for the roaches
Justin M on Oct 30, 2025
The Aston Mahana is a relatively inexpensive option compared to other resorts in the area but you absolutely get what you pay for. Our room was infested with roaches and I communicated this to front desk staff multiple times during my visit. They did try to accommodate me with attempts for discounts as well as moving to another room and I appreciated their efforts. Ultimately, the infestation was so bad that we decided to change hotels entirely due to the lack of comparable rooms of adequate cleanliness to move over to. Management initially would not allow a refund of the first night I stayed and I was told that since I was trying to check out the second night (before sleeping) that I would be billed for it. Management wanted me to be charged the second night and then fight to get the money back the next day. This was something I thought was unfair and I disputed it. I eventually spoke with the Manager and she was able to not charge me the second night and gave me a full refund for the first night of stay. The hotel ultimately did the right thing but I was very unhappy with the lack of pest mitigation measures. Apparently they only happen quarter as opposed to what I believe they should be which is bi-weekly. Maui is a tropical island and I understand that different insects exist there and not elsewhere but these bugs were creeping around everywhere in the room (kitchen, bathroom, cabinets, bed, carpet) A few were tolerable but when we kept seeing them it was just disgusting. My recommendation is to find a reputable Airbnb instead for the price you would have paid at this location or simply spend more money at a resort to vastly increase the chances of a non-pest infested and pleasant stay
