The staff was absolutely phenomenal. This place is our home away from home. Our go to. for Maui. if you want to keep meal costs down. They have awesome barbeque areas at the facility. The pool and grounds are so well maintained. we plan on coming back yet again in march.

MKV is a wonderful, old-school, low-density experience. The grounds are beautiful, the units tastefully furnished, and the staff are great. We have been coming here for over 20 years and have become friends with many of them. It says a lot about the complex that many of the staff have been there as long as we have been coming to visit

This property is very dated. Maybe it was just our wing but not clean. I had to clean our bathroom sink area. The lampshades were very dusty and had a piece of gum stuck to the lamp shade. We paid through a travel agent so I couldn’t dispute our nightly rate. Also. I am celiac and must eat gluten free We ate at the restaurant on site the day we arrived. I asked the wait staff over and over what my options were and when the food came I asked 3 times to ensure it was gluten free. I was assured it was safe. Well nope! I was sick from day 1 ruined my vacation Lessoned learned on my part. So I recommend you eat off properly if you are gluten free. Even the food trucks are a better option.

6th stay at the MKVs, unit 501, nicest unit were ever had, bed however was not that comfy, mattress and pillow were hot. Also the only pantry supplies in the unit were salt, pepper, coffee and sugar. No oil or other spices. Pots, pan, flatware and kitchen ware and appliances all seemed brand new. Love the calmness, few people and best beach north of black rock. Overall a nice stay and a nice unit.

We enjoyed our stay at Kaanapali Villas. We had booked a vacation through Costco and when we arrived we were not happy with the room we reserved - ocean view studio. Before booking you should know that all of the ocean view rooms are in the towers and when checking in we were advised that the view of the ocean could only be seen from the balcony in most rooms. This didn't bother me until we got to the room and discovered the "balcony" was only about 12 inches wide and the ocean view is quite distant. You could barely step out onto the "balcony" and there is no possible way you could sit on it. As other reviewers have mentioned there is some large mechanical equipment behind this building that is very noisy. I will say the room was very clean. I returned to the desk to express my surprise that the room did not have a lanai that you could sit on to enjoy the view, as well as how noisy it was (after requesting a quiet room at time of booking) and I was advised that this is how all the ocean view rooms are and that this is what we had booked. The front desk ended up accommodating us and switched us to an ocean side studio on the first floor in the Dolphin building, and this room was wonderful. Our view was of the pool, not the ocean, but the room and location was so much better this did not bother us. I suspect the second floor rooms in the ocean side buildings have a nice view of the ocean. The new room was significantly larger than the first room and had a nice patio with table and chairs that we used every day. The grounds were lovely, the pool was beautiful and we never had a problem finding chairs to use, the beach out front is uncrowded and swimmable, and a very short walk away there is great snorkeling. The resort is walkable to other resorts and restaurants as well as Whaler's Village. The free trolley service was a nice perk. Belinda at the concierge desk was very friendly and helpful getting a couple of excursions booked. Overall we had an amazing time and I would stay here again, but would make sure we book an ocean side room - any additional cost for this room type would be well worth it. If we had to stay in the original ocean view room this review would have been much different and I appreciate the front desk employee that worked with us and upgraded our room.
