Easy, Relaxing Stay with Amazing Service
Michael G on Apr 01, 2026
We’re having a great stay at the Fairmont Orchid. The property and grounds are beautiful. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating the entire time. We love how easy everything feels. There’s plenty of space between the pools and the private beach, so we never have an issue finding chairs, which makes it way more relaxing. There are a lot of options to keep our kids busy once they had enough laying by the pool or beach. One thing that really stands out is how Mei at the front desk was so accommodating giving us a very late checkout since we have an evening flight. It gives us the chance to enjoy one more full day and still freshen up before heading to the airport, which makes a big difference.
Wish the rooms were actually updated - mold issues

We went for a return trip because the grounds are beautiful, and it's such a lovely and peaceful location. Food is great too, especially Browns. But, the room we got had multiple issues. We were unable to use the air conditioner at all because of mold smell (musty wet towel like smell) coming from it when we turned it on. We didn't want mold spores spraying all over us, and the odor was overwhelming. So, we were too hot at night and had trouble sleeping. We told the hotel about this, but they were unable to move us. I asked for any alternatives, but all they did was discount our stay. Dissapointing. I thought all the rooms were remodeled! I even asked about this prior to our trip. Nope, only the furniture was replaced. The shower was leaking and smelled of mold too - there was also evidence or moisture damage from the shower. I told the hotel staff about this while we were there, so they are aware of the issue. They really need to completely remodel the bathrooms AND the Air conditioning system. I can't go back, but if they remedied these things, I'd be a lifelong fan of this place.
