Amazing time at the Fairmont Orchid!

Amazing time at the Fairmont Orchid. Traveled as a family with two young kids and we had the best time. The service at the Fairmont is top notch. The Gold Floor team, especially Samuel is outstanding, one of a kind. Danette on the Gold Floor also was so kind and so nice. Sampson in recreation, went above and beyond daily for us. He was so friendly, always willing to help and very insightful. Sampson also told us about the pass that it was on bogo, no one else told us that. He checked in on us multiple times a day. Our rooms on the Gold Floor had amazing views, the rooms were very clean and the noise level by the elevator was not an issue at all, they were so quiet. All of the amenities of the Fairmont were wonderful, with the restaurants and food as well being exceptional. The location you can not beat, it's in a great spot and easy to walk from rooms to pool and ocean. The value of the hotel and how friendly everyone truly is so amazing. The atmosphere is great for kids, families, couples and large groups-they work with everyone and make it so special for each person. The beach area is great for kids, with it not being overly wavy. We can't wait to come back and visit again very soon.
Fairmont Orchid is a great place to stay.

Fairmont Orchid is a great place to stay. I spent five days there and would highly recommend this hotel to my friends. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is lovely, and the staff is friendly, providing excellent service.
Easy, Relaxing Stay with Amazing Service

We’re having a great stay at the Fairmont Orchid. The property and grounds are beautiful. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating the entire time. We love how easy everything feels. There’s plenty of space between the pools and the private beach, so we never have an issue finding chairs, which makes it way more relaxing. There are a lot of options to keep our kids busy once they had enough laying by the pool or beach. One thing that really stands out is how Mei at the front desk was so accommodating giving us a very late checkout since we have an evening flight. It gives us the chance to enjoy one more full day and still freshen up before heading to the airport, which makes a big difference.
Wish the rooms were actually updated - mold issues

We went for a return trip because the grounds are beautiful, and it's such a lovely and peaceful location. Food is great too, especially Browns. But, the room we got had multiple issues. We were unable to use the air conditioner at all because of mold smell (musty wet towel like smell) coming from it when we turned it on. We didn't want mold spores spraying all over us, and the odor was overwhelming. So, we were too hot at night and had trouble sleeping. We told the hotel about this, but they were unable to move us. I asked for any alternatives, but all they did was discount our stay. Dissapointing. I thought all the rooms were remodeled! I even asked about this prior to our trip. Nope, only the furniture was replaced. The shower was leaking and smelled of mold too - there was also evidence or moisture damage from the shower. I told the hotel staff about this while we were there, so they are aware of the issue. They really need to completely remodel the bathrooms AND the Air conditioning system. I can't go back, but if they remedied these things, I'd be a lifelong fan of this place.
Nice property, Excellent service, Outdated room

We stayed here as part of our family/friend year-end vacation. Eight of us arrived at airport but unable to find a taxi or uber (took very long time). Called hotel front desk and they were very helpful in finding us a taxi. The property is gorgeously built and maintained. Check-in process was smooth. We have 4 rooms total. Rooms were kind of small and inside are somewhat dated. Some appliances were not working (like hairdryers, phone, etc). We had to request changing some of those during our stay. The highlight here is a free nice water bottle for each one of us. Outside of the room, everything was nice. Our boys loved the beach as we adults enjoyed tea and the scene. Food and services were a bit on the pricey side. But given the location and it was holiday season, I wouldn't complain. Tip: if you could go 10 mins to Kings or Queens Market, you can get good food with more reasonable price. Fitness center was well equipped and clean, though one might have to wait a few minutes if you go in early morning peak hours. Despite the outdated rooms, service was excellent throughout our stay. Boys love the free ice creams on the beach every afternoon. At time of our departure, front desk again helped us arranging taxi service when our reserved uber failed to show up on time. Uber services on Big Island was not very reliable by our experience during our stay. So if you need to get around, consider rent a car if possible.
