The service was superb. From the front desk staff to the housekeepers to the pool assistants, the spirit of aloha is alive and well at the Fairmont orchid. I was here for a medical conference. The food was excellent and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

We stayed at The Fairmont Orchid in August 2025 for 3 nights. On arrival, the view was really wow factor. The grounds are stunning and well manicured. Our room was nice but for the price that we paid it was a little underwhelming in comparison to luxury hotel rooms in the Middle East, Asia and Europe. We did love the re-fillable water bottles which we brought back to the UK and still use. The cove area was a real hit with my stepson. He loved the turtles and is still saying now that he misses the Fairmont Orchid. The pool area was nice and we used this one afternoon. Dining was very expensive but of a good quality. We used the complimentary shuttle to go to Tommy Bahamas for dinner several times which we enjoyed. Shout out to Paul the shuttle driver. The hotel is very remote if you don't have a hire car but it wasn't an issue for a stay of 3 nights.

We had the most amazing stay! Snorkelling was amazing- the breakfast buffet was a real hit; we had Sherry look after us most mornings and she was a real delight! This is the perfect place to visit to feel the true Hawaiian spirit and feel looked after! This was my first visit to Hawaii and because of this hotel… I’m looking at returning very soon! Thank you Fairmont Orchid!

I've been to the top Resorts on Kauai, Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island and the Fairmont Orchid is at the top. From the manicured grounds to the outstanding accommodations, it is all comfort and beauty. Not to overlook the wonderful staff from wait help to supervisors . They are more than willing to assist you or tell you of insider stories if you ask. With the expansive grounds with rolling lawns and crashing waves, there is a serenity that is not found in other Hawaii resorts. I have been coming back every year for a number of years and it hasn't changed, except for the better. Amazing sunsets, perfect temperatures, crystal clear air and water backed up with the balmy-est of breezes makes this resort a favorite.

We were at the Fairmont orchid for a Mayo Clinic conference in March 2026. The resort is dated but worst thing was on day two first we saw a huge road crawling in the lobby by the elevator on the 5th floor of the North Tower. Next thing we see another roach is our bathroom!! This is unacceptable. When we called front desk someone came and took it away and said “have a good day”! This totally ruined our experience in the Big Island, Hawaii.
