Decent hotel but horrible wifi/internet
Matth-t-S (The Netherlands) on Dec 06, 2024
I had a good stay at TI. The rooms are dated but clean. A/C is very noisy, but can be turned off. WiFi really sucked. It has very little throughput (5 Mbps) but with a lot of guests it completely dies and nothing gets through. Even the logon page no longer shows. It was the same in previous years so feedback has not helped. But since I am a business traveler, I will sure look for a better place if available.
Not the place you want to stay at while in Vegas

Came to Vegas for a conference and booked a room at Treasure Island. When I arrived at the hotel my first clue that this wasn't going to be ideal was when we pulled up. The hotel is super dated. Compared to hotels around it - the Venetian, the Palazzo, the Wynn - it is an eyesore. Inside is no different. The casino floor felt dated and very "downscale". But honestly if these were the only issues, I could live with it. But, I had two major issues with the hotel, which leads to my rating of a 2. 1) The restaurants are limited and not really good. Vegas is known among other things for a great selection of quality restaurants. Not here. There is a super expensive steak place, an average Vietnamese restaurant, a coffee shop that is only open for breakfast and lunch, and a bunch of very mainstream, "cheesy" restaurants across different cuisines like BBQ and Mexican. Not only was the restaurant selection below par, but many of them are only open a few days a week. The Vietnamese restaurant, one of the only decent ones, was closed on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Really? One night I was there, the Vietnamese restaurant was closed and the Mexican restaurant had a private party. That left me with a choice of a super expensive Steak place or some fast food-like options. Absolutely unacceptable for Las Vegas. 2) Despite being in Las Vegas, where people fly in from all over the world and likely have jet lag, the fitness center only opens at 6AM. I've been in Marriott Courtyards that have had a 24 hour fitness center. I woke up the first day at 4 AM, put on my work out clothes and headed downstairs only to find out the fitness center was closed. That is a big issue to me. The only positives I can say are: 1) It's a good location 2) The people working there were generally nice and helpful 3) The rooms were spacious and comfortable Honestly, with all the options of places to stay in Vegas, this is not a place you should target if you want to have a great experience. Super disappointed.
Watch out for hidden fees

Not happy about the resort tax and occupancy tax in the fine print. Should display all in price on ad. Other than that the rooms were clean and nice hotel. Go hotel, kinda smoky in the lobby but rooms are fine. Restaurants are nice and casino is good
Very nice room with comfy beds. Check In was a NIGHTMARE!!

The check in process was a NIGHTMARE. When I booked the room I was offered express check in for an additional fee. I declined because how bad could it be? When you walk into the main entrance there was a huge group of people and the express check in station that had a bunch of kiosks. Since I declined that, I went to the main lobby with check in. The line was literally so long there was no space in the lobby. As I walked to the line a worker asked if I wanted to do express and I responded I didnt want the extra charge. After 40mins of standing in line I was no where near it being my turn to be checked in considering they had like 2 people at the front desk. A worker came to me with an ipad and asked if I wanted to express check in. I explained I didn’t want the charge. She then responds I wouldnt have to pay, that’s only if it were early check in, which I’m sure most of the lobby wasn’t aware of this. I was hesitant because I didnt want to pay and I had already been in line for so long but after I told her my concerns she ensured me that if there is an issue she would expedite me to the front of the line instead of making me start in the back of the line. The line for express check in was getting really long and so disorganized. It took another 20mins before I could use a kiosk and it wasn’t very straight forward. This was my first impression of Treasure Island and it started off pretty badly. But the rest of the stay was great. The elevators were a tad confusing but a security worker helped me navigate them. The king size bed was soo comfy. The room was very nice and housecleaning was great at keeping things tidy. The tv was annoying because kept timing out and sending you to the main screen. Even the cast on option was not ideal. After each episode it would ask if you want to keep watching but couldnt continue from your phone. You would have to log out and sign back in which was really dumb.
Tackiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

This was probably the tackiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, not the worst, just the tackiest. Some of this is probably due to my inexperience staying in Vegas. We were there, by accident, during the F1 race. We were stopping in for just 2 days on a family trip to the national parks. The hotel had loud trashy hookers everywhere. The room had a toilet that didn’t go down when flushed, no water, no coffee maker. Corners where damaged, fabrics surfaces were worn, metal surfaces in elevators were heavily tarnished. There’s more but some of it is my dislike of Vegas. We did go to the Sphere and it was great!
