Belarmina at buffet gave us good service. Monkeys were fighting on the room and hallway in the middle of the night. A wild side of CR. Food is good, variety is standard. Beach is difficult to go for walks, volcanic rocks to cross over and small river. Pool is standard. Animation is standard activities. Older resort but nice walkways. Lots of stairs from lobby to main pool area and eating restaurant...too much for seniors.

Really enjoyed our recent stay. It was a last minute decision and I am thankful that we chose Occidental Tamarindo. Everything was excellent but t would not give it a 5 star simply because it doesn't include some amenities that a 5 star resort would include. You may get a little tired of the buffet but there is much to choose from and the a la carte restaurants were very good. It did exceed my expectation. I would go back.
