The Garland far exceeded our expectations!! What we expected was a nice, conveniently located hotel, as we were visiting “The Brady Bunch House.” What we did not expect was the exceptional cleanliness, the cool retro style; (the decor is amazing, with superb attention to detail) and the inviting bar. We also appreciated the delicious food at the restaurant and bar. The entire staff at the hotel, restaurant and bar was truly phenomenal. Their hospitality and friendliness were outstanding, including the owners of the hotel, who went above and beyond to contributing to our memorable visit. Thank you so very much J & S! We highly recommend the Garland and we can’t wait to go back again!

Overall, the experience was good - the room was clean and the pool area was great. The one major downside was that the wifi internet barely worked, which made getting any work done quite difficult. It was too poor for meetings and required phone tethering instead. The hotel sent technicians to try to fix it twice, but it didn't change anything. So I would recommend The Garland unless you need specifically need to get work done.

The Garland hotel has a fantastic location paired with the warm attentive staff who genuinely care about the guest experience. The team remembered details about us and were always helpful with questions and making plans which made our stay feel personal and welcoming. The location is very convenient with quick access to nearby attractions the hotel offers great amenities including family friendly activities and a solid kids menu. We ate on site and found the food to be excellent. The surrounding area is also walkable with a grocery store and several restaurants close by. I've seen some comments suggesting the neighborhood felt unsafe but that just wasn't our experience it felt like a normal city neighborhood with apartment buildings and street parking. For anyone accustomed to urban environments the walk to Ventura Blvd is straight forward and we felt completely comfortable walking down there for food.

This is a very nice property and I would stay here again. I think it is an older property, but has been nicely renovated. The on site restaurant serves a delicious breakfast and the pool are is also very nice. We attended a reception at the outdoor venue space and that was lovely. You would never know you were in the heart of a big city. All the staff seemed nice, helpful and efficient.

We have stayed at The Garland a number of times and always enjoy going back. The personalised service has been impressive. The friendly staff always make us feel very welcome and deliver exceptional customer service. We find hotel very relaxing, suitable for individuals or families. The ‘Front Yard’ is a casual indoor / outdoor dining area. The ‘Courtyard’ has lounge furniture, umbrellas, heaters and food & drinks service. ’The Store’ offers some excellent gifts / essential travel needs. There is a gym, heated swimming pool and 2 spas with adjacent bar facilities. Plenty of room to spread out with sun-lounges, umbrellas and towels provided. The hotel has excellent laundry facilities where customers can do their own washing / drying. We have used this multiple times each visit. There is an ATM immediately behind reception for access to cash We have always selected pool-side rooms which have a balcony with an excellent outlook. The rooms have a safe, ironing facilities, high-dryer and multiple device charging. The hotel is very close to Universal Studios and shopping mall and a free bus service runs on the hour from 8:15 am to 10:15 pm every day. We highly recommend The Garland.
