We had a lovely stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. The service was excellent, including our Bellboy, Joel. He was very kind and helpful.

HEADPHONES STOLEN FROM ROOM 2415

Deija H on Aug 07, 2026

HEADPHONES STOLEN FROM ROOM 2415! I had an extremely disappointing experience during my stay July 30-August 3. My headphones were left on the kitchen island in our room, and after housekeeping and the employee who delivered a birthday cake had access to the room, they were gone. We searched the entire room multiple times and even went through all of our luggage before reporting them missing. When we went to the front desk, Abigail told us that security would need to accompany us back to the room so they could search the room and our bags. Since we had already done that ourselves, this felt unnecessary and did nothing to address the actual issue. She also called employees to ask if anyone had seen the headphones, but realistically, if someone had taken them, they’re not likely to admit it over the phone. What was most frustrating was the lack of a meaningful investigation or any real attempt to resolve the situation. Whether the headphones were stolen or simply mishandled, I expected much better customer service and accountability from Pueblo Bonito. Guests should be able to leave personal belongings in their room without worrying that they may disappear. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously. I would think twice before staying here again.

Beautiful bones, but poorly managed — repeated water outages ruined our stay

Lexi B on Aug 06, 2026

raveled as a family of four with two babies. Check-in was chaotic and slow, and staff were evasive about issues we’d face. We were placed in a villa with no running water — night one: no water, day two: on and off, night two: no water again (had to shuttle by golf cart to shower in another room), night three: no water yet again, and this time we had to fully switch rooms. That took over 4 hours with two infants, no crib available, and missed meals from being shuffled around. Not one staff member apologized for losing us an entire day of our trip. The resort itself is nice but very worn — needs repairs and better bug control, and management doesn’t seem interested in addressing it. Restaurants and public spaces were decent but busy, with long lines everywhere and a noticeable lack of children’s amenities. Expect a timeshare pitch too. Food was decent, drinks were weak (expected at all-inclusive), but none of it offsets three nights without water and a check-in team that wasn’t upfront with us. Would not return — think twice if traveling with young kids.

Horrible experience

GoPlaces60833076279 on Aug 06, 2026

They ruined my 60th birthday celebration! They charged my 40 guest 65% service fee at the restaurant that was part of the all inclusive package we paid for. The staff and service at this hotel is absolutely horrific. The front desk is extremely rude. The manager Mauro was impossible to deal with, his demeanor was rude and disrespectful. They lie about the name of the general manager of the hotel. The entire property is so hilly that you need the porters to drive you around. It takes a really long time to get shuttled on the property. The rooms smell like mold has been sitting for years. The air conditioner makes a humming noise. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY if you want a quality vacation. If you stay here you will be writing a a horrible review ….. guaranteed

Will not go back

sarah h on Aug 06, 2026

The facility is very warn. but it does have breathtaking vews. Our first room AC was barely working and it started leaking water from the ceiling vent so we had to switch the room on 3rd day (you really have to fight for it though). Our second room felt little newer with proper AC and no leaks. Overall the resort feels big but there is not much to do other than just hang out by the pool. It can get boring really fast. Dining options are there but the food is very disappointing. The market that people seem to enjoy is caotic and so loud. It's not pleasant to dine there. The staffs are working very hard and friendly so that's a plus. We did go to Marina area a few times. The shuttle service to Rose is only availbale every our and most of times, only availability is in the afternoon but I didn't find Rose report worth visiting at all. The facility feels even more warn down and it's very crowded (also very small). Marina is about 20 minute walk from Rose, but the walk is not pleasant especially during hot day since the street is not very clean and looks little unsafe. So if you are going to Marina, take the taxi. It is not worth the walk to save $17 cab fee. Overall, it was not a relaxing and enjoyable time at all. Everywhere we go, and every minute, we were hounded with either time share, excursions, other type of hustlers. Be careful when you check out to review your bill. They will automatically add some kind of foundation donation (about $1.51/ day. It's not alot but it feel too sneaky to just add without my consent) and you can only remove it during check out. so if you think you paid all inclusive before you arrived and didn't have any other fee, just take another look before you sign off during check out. There are few positive on food - they fries are very good (it's really sad that the highlight of the trip was the french fries) and shrimp cheviche is also very good (pool side food seem better than the restaurant). Sushi restaurant was not edible for us at all - mostly because rice is so dense and mushy. Chinese restaurant was ok. but there are some dishes that are sooo salty. I just don't understand how it can have so much salt in one dish. One more thing. Sunset does have about 5 pool on site but they often run out of towel so grab them early. To sum up, It's old facility, it feels dirty, it has no other accomodation other than just go to the swimming pool and eat, drink and enjoy the view. (view is beutiful from almost every spot) and prepare to tip everytime you make a movement. I think I can find a better way to spend the money with more quality experience than at sunset & rose
