Mold

SC m (Minneapolis) on Jan 14, 2025

There's is visible mild and water damage on the ceiling of our room. The room smells moldy as well. Great view but can't believe they would let this go without some sort of remediation. The radiator will also blast cold air right onto the bed if the temp rises a degree above the setting.

Meh. There are better hotels at this price range.

Madam_Zo_Zo (Seattle, Washington) on Dec 17, 2024

This hotel's biggest asset is its housekeeping staff. Every housekeeping staff member we interacted with was charming and couldn't do enough for us. We made some requests for extra pillows etc, and they couldn't have been more delightful or responsive. As for the rest... The night we checked in, the scent being pumped through the air conditioning (or maybe it was the cleaning products) was so strong it felt suffocating. Thankfully, it seemed to disapate over the following 24-hours. If it hadn't, I would have needed another hotel. The rooms are poorly laid out. Small rooms are to be expected in NYC, so what you do with the space matters. Putting a partition (desk and closet) in the middle of the room, made it more cramped, dark and diffictult to move around than necessary. The sad, slumpy looking couch wedged into a dark corner, looked dirty and took up precious space. The power outlets at the desk are so close to the tabletop, you can't get a typical Mac transformer to plug in. I had to charge my laptop at the bedside table, and then move it to the desk to use it. Other than that, it was a typical hotel of this standard. Nothing special, certainly not $400+ per night worth. We'll be staying somewhere else next time.

Will never stay at this hotel again

keithcQ1741RY on Dec 11, 2024

This is probably the worst Marriott property that I've ever stayed in (I'm a Lifetime Titanium Elite, so I've stayed at a LOT of Marriott properties). First of all, no extra amenities at all, such as a simple bottle of water in the room (you can purchase water at the front desk for $4 per bottle). Secondly, the hotel breakfast closes down promptly at 9:00 a.m., which is fine unless you want another cup of coffee after 9:00 a.m. - they pick up the coffee containers and dump the remaining coffee. Our room was so tiny, that there was almost no place to hang up or store the warm, heavier clothing that we brought for this trip. In addition, the lighting was horribly dim, making it difficult to distinguish clothing colors, and reading. I will never stay at this property again. As a side note, our friends used points to book their room, and still had to pay almost $500 per night even with the points - ridiculous!

Excellent front counter service!

RonnieYang (Singapore, Singapore) on Nov 17, 2024

Eunice from the front counter was extremely helpful in addressing my credit card payment matter. She was pleasant and was very professional. The location of the hotel is good, near Penn station and is in a safe area. Despite being busy, she was patient. A big thank you!

Don’t spend your money at this hotel!!

Paul L (Euless, Texas) on Nov 04, 2024

This hotel is one to be skipped for sure! Staff is ok, but nothing special. One elevator was broken most of our stay and both ended up breaking at the end of our stay, resulting in a hike up 5 floors of stairs Rooms super small making it very awkward for even two people to get around the room. Also, rooms dark with no desks. Oh, and air conditioning very difficult to adjust in the room we were in. Buttons wouldn’t work even after making the front desk aware.
