Nice, Very Warm and a rude front of house chap - expect delays on check in

Quest14029657637 (Bonvilston, United Kingdom) on Jan 03, 2022

Nice place to stay with the family. Hotel is quite warm and no place (apart from Bar) to get a cold drink. Had to request a fridge for the room to get our own drinks. Overall very impressed but were disappointed with the attitude of one of the front desk staff “Casey” - after a long flight and arriving he explained our room wasn’t ready and it was 7pm - rather than help he was quite sarcastic and rude and tried to use Covid as an excuse. Tried to explain we should have been warned about the delay but he said “check in isn’t until 4pm and can’t understand what my problem was” Apart from “Casey” all staff are polite, welcoming and very helpful.

Beautiful hotel in a convenient location!

ChadandJen (Denver, Colorado) on Jan 02, 2022

My husband and I are return guests to the Westin New York Times Square. Friendly faces, clean rooms, a great location convenient to the subway, and walking distance to a lot of the touristy type things you would want to do (Times Square, Shopping, etc.) Please keep in mind that ALL hotels and everywhere in the hospitality industry are working through kinks right now. It is difficult to keep full staff at places, and there is nowhere in this world that we have visited that is "back to normal." This was apparent at the hotel bar/restaurant. You will not find a full menu like you're typically accustomed to, and the choices of wine might not match what is actually available that evening. Be sure to "go with the flow" and tip your servers with kindness. Everyone is doing the best that they can, and without them, we wouldn't have the opportunity to be overlooking the beautiful city views while enjoying the human connection of other guests. Special Thank You and recognition to Vesela from Check-In/Front Desk--she helped us check-in seamlessly while quickly answering any questions we had and helped us to coordinate our friend's check-in (who was coming in the next day). We loved her customer service and friendliness. Special Thank you and recognition to Stefany, our server at The Foundry, who was getting slammed with huge parties at the end of the evening but was still able to provide us great service and answer questions about the wine substitutes that were happening on the menu as we received a different wine than we had originally ordered. We had the opportunity to connect with her personally as the big parties cleared out, and heard about how crazy things have been in NYC for the hospitality industry, and how much she appreciated our support and flexibility when it came to juggling the menu changes and large groups. Special Thank You and recognition to Terry and Michael, for their incredible customer service and dedicated leadership. We appreciated your communication, kindness, and your helping to make our friend's birthday visit a special one! We also appreciated you helping us with our folios after check-out to ensure the right person was billed. THANK YOU to the entire Westin New York Times Square team for taking such great care of your guests and for giving return visitors like us a safe place to rest in the evenings while also providing us a great home base for exploring. Happy New Year and Cheers to brighter days ahead!

Pretty good in terms of NY standards

sudosandwich (Seattle, Washington) on Jan 02, 2022

Not a bad hotel to be honest in terms of NY standards. NY Standards meaning decently sized rooms with your typical average facilities and amenities. Service is quite good as well. However not sure if this hotel is overbooking rooms since I was told my room type wasn't available upon checking in -- and I have Platinum which guarantees the reservation. Either way, eventually found a room. In terms of the room, IMO its a bit dated and probably needs a refresh at some point.

Amazing hotel, staff and rooms

Clairejshan (Nottingham, United Kingdom) on Jan 01, 2022

Stayed end of Nov 2021 and beginning of Dec 2021. Our previous 4 hotels had been cancelled so was dubious where we getting put, but there was no need!! Hotel was amazing, location great if you want to be in all the hustle and bustle. Maid came everyday, room was spotless, mini fridge wasn’t stocked which would of been nice but by no means an issue. Staff wouldn’t do enough for you, helpful, friendly and hard working. The bed was a dream, it was lovely, my pillow was really soft so asked for harder ones, within minutes they were sent up. Shower was lovely. We were on the 11th floor in a junior suite, the room was lovely, and so quiet!! Would 100% recommend the hotel to anyone travelling who wants to be in amongst it all!!

Westin New York Times Square

lcjt01 (Omaha, NE) on Dec 31, 2021

I stayed in room 4537 for one night. The room was towards the corner on the top floor, so had great views to include the Empire State Building. The mattress was comfortable, nice size TV, in-room safe, small minbar, coffeemaker, the alarm clock had a USB for charging otherwise not really any other spot for charging on the nightstand. The showerhead was fantastic, there was not a lot of counter space in the bathroom though. For the most part my room was quiet with the exception that I did have an issue with the people next door who let their child cry and cry and cry in the morning and did nothing to calm the child down, so was woken up early morning. The hotel has a restaurant for breakfast (buffet style). Computer in the main area but in order to use it you have to use your credit card, to include the internet, otherwise you are unable to use just to even check your email accounts. There is a gym but did not have any time to check it out. There is a FedEx station also in the main area. If you need to get a cab, the bell men will get one for you. The hotel is about two blocks from Times Square, across the street from the subway, Shake Shack, Carlos Bakery (Cake Boss), Madame Tussads and other shops and restaurants. Enjoyed my stay
