First time staying at the Sheraton Vistana

I think the best thing about this resort are the employees. Not stuffy or stuck up. All were very friendly and very laid back. The resort itself is nice. Plenty of pool space for everyone and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

Beware of 90 minute timeshare presentation!

I received an offer in the mail for five days/four nights vacation at a set price. Upon arrival, we were offered an upgraded room and a $200 gift card if we attended a 90 minute presentation. We were assured that the presentation is 90 minutes and at the end we would be free to leave immediately. This did not turn out to be true. After many tactics to convince us to sign up for a minimum $20k investment, a manager was brought in to further convince us. We declined to sign up multiple times. Finally with a firm “No” our visibly frustrated sales associate led us to another portion of the office for a “survey”. At this point we had been there for two hours and twenty minutes. The customer service agent came out with the survey and asked the following questions: “On a scale of 1-5 how would you rate your sales associate?” On a scale of 1-5 how likely would you be to purchase Marriott ownership in the future?” “Would you come back to Orlando in the future?” I responded yes to this. “Would you come back to this hotel?” I responded yes. Then the customer service agent said he could offer us an exclusive deal for the next time we come to Orlando. We would have to put some money down and pay monthly installments. I declined. The agent then asked “What can Marriott do to convince you?” At this point I said, “Honestly, we just want to go. We were told it would be a 90 minute presentation and it has been well over that.” The agent immediately said “Then why did you lie on your survey?” I was astounded and very confused. The agent then said “You said you wanted to come back.” This was obviously going downhill and appeared that since we would not buy into the timeshare ownership or sign up for any ‘exclusive deals’ we were not worthy of common decency. I said, “Are we done here?” The agent responded “Yes.” and immediately got up and left. I could not believe how nasty they had gotten with us. It put a huge damper on our vacation. I immediately went to the manager. Leslie, and let her know what was going on downstairs. This was out of her department but she was incredibly nice. She said she would forward her notes to the sales manager and he would call to speak with me. It’s now a day later and no call. I don’t expect to receive one honestly. Please beware of this. If we had known how this would go no matter of upgrades of gift cards would be worth going through this. It was incredibly stressful, and the sales associate was manipulative, rude, and not willing to take a no.

Great stay for a family from U.K.

We spent a lovely 2 weeks at SVV in May 22, originally we’d booked a resort opposite on Idrive but after reading bad reviews post covid for that resort we switched to SVV and we’re so pleased we did. Security do a great job on the gate and we felt safe on this resort because of it. Check in was very quick and easy as only us. I’d emailed guest relations before our visit and a very helpful Amy Spence allocated us a room to meet our needs. We loved the location and the room was clean, modern and very spacious. We only had one clean through our 14 night stay, we could’ve requested 2. I washed the towels myself and had some cleaning spray and wipes delivered with our shopping on arrival. We didn’t have a car, we used Lyfts and Ubers which worked very well. We did use the itrolley a few times and enjoyed that service although some stops had no shade and in the heat was an issue for our kids. Uber eats is a great service too, that deliver to the door. We used 2 of the pools and always found beds plentiful and the grounds are stunning. Overall we felt the resort to be well maintained. We had an issue with our fridge not working and some food had gone off, within 45 mins maintenance came and decided to change for a new fridge and we were compensated $60 to use on site. We had a busy time, most days we spent at the parks but due to the heat we did find ourselves using the apartment more than we thought we would by breaking up the day coming back to apartment to cool down, use the pool and go back out again. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely look to book again for our trip back in 2 years. Thank you to the SVV team for making our stay so enjoyable on a holiday that we will remember forever .

15 night stay…..

We stayed here for 15 nights and really enjoyed our time here. We got one housekeeping visit in this time which I thought was abit poor especially when they didn’t turn up on the day I arranged and was left with dirty towels and bedding. I requested toilet roll which was brought up straight away! The hotel is at the quite end of international drive but we didn’t mind as we had a car. The shop on site is abit pricey for food etc but we got a Publix grocery delivery to fill the fridge and freezer. The hotel grounds are beautiful and facilities are great! The main pool is stunning especially at night when the sun has gone down and it’s abit quieter! The staff were all very friendly and always willing to help you. I think they have gone covid crazy with the ‘cashless’ property policy but I suppose that’s the way of the world at the minute! It’s frustrating that the staff accept a cash tip but can’t pay with cash for a drink!!! Overall I definitely would stay here again if I was to visit Orlando again……

Nice resort!

We normally stay at the other Sheraton Vistana and decided to give this one a try for a change. We really enjoyed it. It’s smaller than the other one which is nice. However the Starbucks and marketplace is super far and quite a walk Depending where you’re staying on the resort. We loved it and I would like the fact that there’s a quiet pool… But I didn’t like as you had to arrive at 6:30 in the morning to get a cabana!! I did purchase an encore package so we will be returning in a couple of months time. What I didn’t enjoy was the pushy salesman who didn’t understand that I didn’t want to make a rash decision to buy a timeshare. He was rude, insulting, pushy, belligerent…. And I realize that I had actually met him a couple of years before at Sheraton Vistana resort. What a piece of work this guy is!! But this is pretty much the only damper on our trip. The front desk staff are overworked and work long hours so be patient and kind to them. They are doing their best. For the most part the resort is quiet and peaceful. People are friendly. However on our first day there there was a family who let their six-year-old son run around the patio restaurant with a rubber knife that looked real… While the dad put fake bullets into a shotgun and was letting the kids play with it. And you wonder there are gun issues in the US! When I pointed this out to one of the staff he just laughed and said “oh they’re just fake”. The mother just played on her phone and chatted with her friends and completely ignored the children. It was quite shocking. Aside from that, We come down to Orlando several times a year or so we will probably be back at this resort. We had a large two bedroom suite what was which was very comfortable, And in building four. It was nice and quiet. We will be back.
