Relaxing Fun and Sun Stay
Deepti N (Toronto, Canada) on Jan 29, 2023
We went in Dec and it was just the place to relax, chill and get some sun. We did some of the Yoga and aqua fit classes. We like the quieter Key West section better. Go to Aldi nearby for your Grocery. Mod Pizza also nearby good. The room needs a little more attention to detail. The dishwasher was dislodged, some bulbs were not working. The AC hard to control.
Huge disappointment!

We have stayed at this resort numerous times over the last 12 years and always enjoyed it. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms we’ve always been in were updated and clean. We are both Bonvoy Platinum Elite. This time we booked and paid for two rooms and invited friends to join us. However this experience has been much different. Check-in took forever and it was hours past the 4:00pm deadline before we got the keys to both rooms. Our friends’ one-bedroom smaller villa had a broken coffee maker that took two days to get replaced. It also had a leaking drain pipe under the sink that required a pot to catch the water. It never got fixed. It was musty, dark and had original 2000 decor. Both 1-bedrooms were in the oldest buildings in Bella section. They have not been refurbished since they were built 23 years ago. Ours smelt musty, the appliances were old, small and questionable. The water pressure in the shower, a trickle and the dishwasher roared for 2.5 hrs before we manually stopped it. The dishes were still dirty. The TV in the living room was postage stamp size, although the one in bedroom was bigger. These were not even remotely the same accommodations we had had every time we stayed in the past. Those were bright and had been renovated. These were dark, dingy and old. On day 5 our friends left and and at 7 am, my husband went to ask if we could please be moved to the newer section we’ve always stayed in. He talked to a manager who said they would call us later in the day. That did not happen and when we followed up, no one knew any thing about it, and said they would not do it in any case. This is just a word of warning, it seems that people booking through the Marriott website are getting shoved to these old buildings. We have 5 days left in a 10-day reservation with no other option, but have cancelled our next stay for later in the year. Sad, because this WAS a place we had highly recommended to many people over the years and returned to often. Sheraton VVs. You need to put some work into your property and you customer service. A chipper little “thank you for your feedback” comment below, won’t cut it either.
