What we Liked and Disliked About the Swan Resort

Marty B (Stuart, Florida) on Apr 22, 2026

We first stayed at the Swan Resort about 20 years ago, maybe even before we started to write Trip Advisor reviews. We remember the experience being nice, but expensive. The front foyer area is quite large to pull-up and take your belongings out. There are bellmen who can help. We noticed that both the Swan and Dolphin resorts have their own busses to cart you around the parks and Disney Springs. We came early and luckily there was a room available. The front clerk was efficient and friendly. Now that we have more money, the expense of the Swan can be swallowed. Plus, with American Express Platinum card there are a few perks. The major advantage of staying either at the Swan or its sister property the Dolphin, is the proximity to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios either by walking, by boat or even the Skyliner. Also, a short walk away is the Boardwalk with restaurants and shops. My wife loved it. The walk-in-shower was superb. The room just big enough. The 75-inch TV was awesome, the AC could easily be controlled, the bed comfortable, the refrigerator cold, the in-room-coffee delicious. Having a balcony was a nice perk, but not necessary. And, finally, the room was clean. The room was almost perfect. The bed wood frame jutted out making it an ideal situation for a shin bruise. I did hit the frame a few times We did have trouble with the self-parking--$30. There is a huge lot, but all the spaces were taken. The attendant said, “You have to be creative in finding a space.” After about 20 or so minutes, we came across an open spot near the front along the hedge—not even a regular car space. Not having to move the car for 3 days was nice, though, and there was no parking ticket. Going to valet obviously meant more money. There were quite a few restaurants at this resort. Marriott also owns the Dolphin Resort just a short walk away. Sometimes you can get a better price at the Dolphin, but prices do vary depending on the season and how many convention groups are attending. Finally, what made it for me, are the three huge pools that are shared between the Dolphin and the Swan. The $40 resort fee is well worth paying for these pools. The middle pool has a thirty-foot-wide waterfall about 15 feet or so high. I had that pounding water message my back. It was wonderful. I did notice a number of years ago when we stayed at the Dolphin, this waterfall is closed when the temperatures are cooler. People complained that the pool area was too cool when the waterfall was on. A side note: the attendants at the pool are wonderful people. Would we go back to the Swan Resort? In a heartbeat. Really enjoyed staying at this property

Moe214 (McKinney, Texas) on Apr 22, 2026

Stayed at the property for a business conference. Check in was uneventful with very friendly host personnel. The hotel was clean and everyone that I interacted with that represented the hotel was very friendly and professional. Plenty of on property restaurants and a cafe where you can purchase little things like bottled water and milk. The room was bright, comfortable and spacious with 60+ inch TV. Most importantly, the room remained cool all night, not like some hotels where they turn off the AC at night. The view was nice and looked over a lake and artificial beach. It should be noted, the property is massive! It will seem like you need GPS to find your room. The hotel was also very family friendly with children enjoying themselves all over the place. Would definitely recommend.

Swan Hotel at Disney nickles and dimes you with extra costs.

The Swan Hotel is owned by Marriott and I love this hotel chain. I've stayed at low end Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn's up to Ritz and JW Marriott's. The Swan tries to be at the high end.....at least from the price standpoint. I reserved two, separate rooms. One for my daughter, her husband and two small kids and an ajoining room with myself, wife and adult daughter. If you are thinking between the Swan/Dolphin and a Disney property, I would recommend the Disney property. Even if it is more expensive. The Swan charges $40 per day for self parking, along with charging me an extra $35 per day for an adult daughter. We had two, queen beds and had three people staying in that room and they charged me extra $35.00 per day for the "extra adult". The hotel staff (cleaning) were very good, but the management and the managers were not helpful when I addressed a couple items. I would highly recommend staying on the Disney property if you plan on going to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, etc. The busing from the Disney properties is easier and direct. No stopping and transferring. Self parking is free at the Disney properties, as well.

Exceptionally clean hotel, great value to get deluxe resort perks!

Laura W (Colorado Springs, Colorado) on Apr 06, 2026

We loved the Swan Hotel at WDW. I’m very particular about room housekeeping and rarely give 5 star reviews these days, but this hotel deserves it. Here’s our assessment of what’s important to us: Pros – Rooms and general hotel were very clean, no housekeeping complaints whatsoever, the rooms and hotel we were kept up (not showing a lot of wear, mildew in shower, etc), all staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful, good selection of food and drinks at Java, nice selection in the gift shop, good room service menu - breakfast was high quality and prompt, beds were comfortable and good pillow selection in the room (we found some that didn’t hurt our necks), spacious enough to not feel too crammed unlike some other Disney properties we’ve stayed at, nice to have an additional sink and mirror outside of the bathroom for families getting ready in the morning. The main reason we booked this hotel was for early park hours and extended evening hours and that benefit, along with a very clean and well maintained room, made this an exceptional stay. Cons – there is a daily resort fee and I didn’t feel this gave us any value. I feel that hotels should just roll this into their daily rate if they have to charge it (seems like a dishonest, hidden way to charge more for the room); one of the queen mattresses was noticeably sagging on one side, but I slept on the other side and it was just fine and flat; I heard the shuttle bus only drops off at the TTC at Magic Kingdom instead of front gate like other Disney properties, but you can get a Minne Van (Lyft) to bring you to the front gate if it’s advantageous for time or mobility (which we opted for – exceptionally friendly service with the Minnie Vans). I would highly recommend this hotel to friends and family (and you) and we would definitely stay here again on future trips.

Excellent Stay

Excellent location and amenities. Loved the pool and beach area. Proximity to Boardwalk and Epcot can’t be beat. Our AC unit was broken and maintenance was there within 10 minutes to fix it. Facilities were clean and well kept. Great coffee shop downstairs. We had an excellent stay and would definitely stay here again.
