Expensive and poor Wi-Fi data transfer rate
Roger W on Sep 26, 2023
Expensive room with terrible Wi-Fi The room was clean and standard for a Marriott. Hotel charged a $49 resort fee for internet and phone calls. When singing up for Wi-Fi, you are asked to spend an additional amount for premium Wi-Fi. Standard Wi-Fi takes almost 7 seconds to load hotel homepage. Any other web surfing is brutally painful. So you just tether to your phone. So you pay $49 a day for Wi-Fi that is all but practically unusable. Calls to the front desk were a waste of time.
Upscale at Disney

Just got back from a 5-night stay at the Swan Reserve. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. The grounds were great with a playground, multiple pools, and easy access to the parks. Not-so-great - This hotel doesn’t know whether it wants to be a Marriott or Disney. When we arrived, I asked to add our Marriott account because we have top status with Marriott. The response was that “we can add it, but you won’t get any of the benefits because we are Disney.” Then we had a hiccup with our room type, and when I went downstairs to see if they could change us rooms, the response was “we can’t do that because we’re Marriott and you booked directly through Disney. You’ll have to call them and get them to switch you rooms.” At that point, it wasn’t worth it. Very frustrating. For Disney transportation, you can walk across the street to Swan/Dolphin and take the boat to Hollywood Studios and Epcot. Super convenient! The hotel also provides shuttles to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. If you don’t plan on going off-site of Disney, I recommend ubering as the hotel charges $40/day for parking. Food is also limited at the Swan Reserve. You’ll need to walk over to Swan/Dolphin or boat to the Boardwalk. I definitely think this is one of the nicest properties you can stay while at Disney, but manage your expectations.
Faded glory.

We stayed in room 1059 East from 10th to 17th September 2023. For an hotel which uses so many superlatives in its publicity, eg “magnificent”, “ultimate”, “spectacular”, etc. I have to say I found our experience fell short of those standards. The shower very difficult to switch completely between rain shower head and hand held nozzle, thus impossible to shower without getting wet hair. All of the USB sockets in the lamp bases either not working or broken Dirty/stained towel delivered as clean. Photograph available if wanted. Carpets in corridor in very poor condition (worn and stained) Horizontal surfaces such as top of pictures, bed head and metal plates below bedside lamps very dusty and obviously not regularly cleaned. Photographs attached. Faucets in the two sinks mix hot and cold in opposite directions. Only one robe supplied. After checkout, while waiting for transfer to our next destination, we found the availability of Wi-Fi in the public areas extremely patchy which was very inconvenient. While these problems did not ruin our stay they would make us think twice about staying in another Bonvoy establishment if the divergence between claimed standards and actuality is a corporate problem. On a positive note all the staff with whom we interacted were extremely helpful and a delight to deal with.
The Swan for The Win!

We won’t stay at Disney World resorts ever again. Saved over $1000 compared to staying next door at the sandy bottomed resort. We had a beautiful room that was pristine. Short walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios plus the Skyliner and boats. Multiple places on-site to eat, beautiful grounds, and wonderfully relaxing pools. Plus the perk of early entry. All staff members we came in contact with were super friendly and greeted us. Highly recommend The Swan!
Great Arrival & Departure Experience

Awesome hotel in perfect location. The team is always so willing to serve & ensure a flawless experience. Dylan F in valet wheats goes above & beyond. He recognizes you, greets you by name & engages about your day. A true stoic figure who ensures that he’s a smiling face to welcome you on the first visit or welcome you back. The restaurants are superb and Il Mulino is absolutely decadent and exceptional from start to finish. Overall amazing job and a place you should certainly visit while in Orlando for stunning stays, great service, exceptional food and convenience.
