Hire staff to clean rooms please
Stacey J (Oakley, California) on May 02, 2025
Was in town for stage coach, these rooms go to 1k a night. I have stayed at motel 6 with better service. Room was clean to start, requested service on day 2 for more towels and a room clean… nothing happened. Requested again on the second day and they finally came. Ridiculous for a 1k a night hotel. Hire the staff and pay them, you are making plenty of money… end of rant.
Good Marriott Hotel

I was here with my husband who was here for a guys’ golf trip while I hung out with a girlfriend. The pool and spa are very nice. This is a very nice hotel. Usual Marriott; standard quality. It is in a good location in Palm Desert. I would recommend staying here.
Rude staff

Terrible service in the reception. Unhelpful and rude staff not willing to effectively communicate with customers without belittling them. Unfortunately that was even the case with front office Manager MS. Kara. Only good staff at the grill restaurant.
This is really a desert motel masquerading as a JW Marriott.

How can this hotel call itself a JW Marriott Hotel? It operates at the service standards of an outback motel. Housekeeping and room cleanliness was woeful. We only chose this hotel because it was part of the Marriott chain and close by to Coachella. Our room was not cleaned at all on our second nite and we returned from Coachella late at night to bins not cleared and dirty towels not replaced. And we had to call front office to get it done at 11.30pm. The following morning we hunted down the housekeeper had reminded her to clean our room. And you know what- it really did not make much of a difference. The sink mirror was not wiped down or cleaned; the laundry service plastic bags and forms were not replaced (ie she never opened the cupboards to check, did she?) and she did not even replace the spare toilet rolls. What kind of housekeeping standards does this hotel have? I’m really disappointed we trusted the JW Marriott brand and were left wanting in some many ways. This is just a sign post JW Marriott that really functions more like a motel. We are not going to stay here again in 2026 when we return to Coachella 2026. Get some proper housekeeping standards in place.
STAY FAR AWAY IF YOU’RE ATTENDING A MUSIC FESTIVAL!

We booked the 3-day Coachella package and paid full price for Thursday night as well, thinking this was a solid deal for an *upscale* hotel. Big mistake. We specifically requested housekeeping for the last two days of Coachella — **no one ever showed up**. We asked multiple times, both in person and over the phone. Nothing. When we spoke with management, we were brushed off and told, essentially, that we were on our own. **Complete disregard for basic service.** We were told to speak with Hugo, the night manager, to escalate the issue — and he was completely condescending and dismissive. As two women simply asking for what we paid for, the attitude and lack of support were appalling. It is outrageous to pay this much for a JW Marriott and receive **zero** housekeeping the entire time. Absolutely unacceptable. Yes, the spa was lovely, and the shuttle service was convenient for the festival — but none of that makes up for how poorly this hotel treated us. This place is **blatantly mismanaged during festival weekends** and clearly treats festival guests as second-class compared to their usual Palm Springs clientele. Never again.
