Great destination, service could be better

Went for a conference and had mixed feelings. The resort is beautiful. Lots of areas for walking and most areas were immaculate. The grounds seemed to be worked on at all times. A walk around the property block was about 3 miles and many beautiful sights. Parking was convenient and FREE. The ball staff helped with our bags and we checked in an reviewed our e-mail. The desk clerk updated our information and pointed to where our room was. We walked to our room and returned in half an hour to find our bags still waiting to be delivered. Apparently there was a miscommunication between the staff. We walked our bags to our room. The room was spacious. The room attendant we had for multiple days did a nice job of cleaning. We had one day in the middle of our staff where we never got service. The pool area is wonderful and the staff very friendly. The bar area dominates the lobby area. Wonderful place for meeting and/or watching sports. The bar staff was very attentive whenever we were there. The conference area is expansive and was used for several events. The staff was always helpful. There are many shops on property and a strip mall conveniently across the street. At check-out, we asked for the receipt to be e-mailed and found the address had not been updated.
Dirty Pools

The adult pool was closed with not signs or notification at check in. The main pools were dirty with cloudy water and trash, plastic and good in the pool each day. Was a sharp edged coffee table in room that cut my husband. The only thing the resort did right was remove the table immediately. I paid more because I wanted a good experience. I emailed the resort and got "No Reply or Call." I guess I will have to wait for that good experience...:(
