Bogus charges! Stay somewhere else!

Sharon S on Feb 03, 2024

Find another hotel! We stayed for numerous nights with our dogs. We were at the hotel to sleep and nothing else. My dogs went from our vehicle to potty, then into the room INTO CRATES for the night. The reverse happened at 4:30am every day we were there. Straight from the crate out to potty and then to our vehicle. Imagine my surprise when I got a separate charge for nearly $300 on my credit card. First call told us it was the deposit and would fall off. When it didn't, another call told us there was damage to the sofa and we were being billed for it. We asked for proof. They sent an email, couldn't get either my first name or last name correct - with pictures of what looked like a cat had used it for a scratching post. Unequivocally it was not done by my dogs as they were never loose/unattended. Stay away from this hotel - they are looking to screw patrons and bolster their remodeling account.

Not Worth It, Won't Return

James M on Jan 23, 2024

You can tell how things are going at a business, when the reviews are disabled on Google. Somewhere there is a manager or pencil pusher, who thought it was a great idea to fatten up the bottom line by adding a $10/night fee for parking that is not disclosed during booking. This property is not in a densely populated urban area, where parking is at a premium. In fact, every car on the property could've easily parallel-parked on the wide access streets to the property. This is simply a bait & switch play to tack on additional fees. It doesn't set the tone well for a stay, when the front desk worker informs you that you are paying $10 a night for parking. That type of news makes you take a harder look at your entire stay and whether you are getting value for the money. The property is dated and it's showing. That's probably why they are in the midst of remodeling the lobby area. The workout facility could use it as well- missing molding, stained ceiling tiles, non-functioning television. The bed is not comfortable and neither is the furniture. The shower head was unusually low, the water pressure wasn't great and instead of shampoo and conditioner in the shower, they offered shampoo and body lotion. Who does that? The HVAC unit was also unusually loud.

Good Visit

Patty M (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) on Dec 29, 2023

Enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite on the top floor. We received notice from our booking agency about the renovations. It was a minor inconvenience. Only noise was from a guest who was constantly slamming their door. Glen checked us in and was very friendly and informative. In fact, everyone one at this hotel were extremely friendly. We were always greeted with a smile and a question of how our day was going. The suite was spacious and clean. We stayed a week so having a separate living and bedroom was perfect. The housekeeping every 4 days was no problem at all. Just ask and you'd receive trash removal and extra towels, etc. The breakfast was typical of hotels in this hotel class. It was plentiful and changed daily. Being there for a week, there were repeats but it was to be expected. We had to get our food in one room and take it to another where the tables were. Not ideal but not a huge inconvenience. The hotel workers did their best working around the renovations. If we need to stay in the area again, and we probably will, we would stay here with no hesitation.

A reasonable restful place during renovations.

fauxpaw2 (Lethbridge, Canada) on Dec 10, 2023

We like Homewood suites since it has a small kitchen area. Well maintained hotel. Nice pool area and breakfast was included and fairly good. This hotel was undergoing renovations and this was inconvenient at times. Staff did their best to help the guests. They helped with boarding passes when we were preparing to leave. The recommendations for restaurants were mostly helpful. The hotel is off by itself with a golf course nearby. Finding it at first was challenging. Price was reasonable for the area.

Property not worth what you're paying

Pete92056 (Oceanside) on Dec 02, 2023

My family just concluded a three day stay here over Thanksgiving. We had two, two bedroom rooms in order to accomodate five adults and two children. The property is currently undergoing a first floor remodel, to what extent, we were not aware of prior to our arrival. The majority of the first floor common area was unaccessible, including one of the two elevators, entire meal service area and bathrooms. One of the luggage carts had a broken wheel on it, but was still in use with a "warning sign". The breakfast had to be served in two separate meeting rooms, one to get your food and one to eat it in. Unfortunately, there appeared to be little effort to enhance or vary what was served. This property is showing signs of wear, both inside and out. It is only six years old and was originally built as a property of another hotel chain. It certainly is not in the condition of a "resort" although they continue to charge a $10 daily parking fee. THAT is a slap in the face to a guest, considering they are in the middle of a residential area, with no retail or restaurants nearby! Overall, we were extremely disappointed in this property.
