This is a very nice Hotel. He food is good, the drinks are great. The pool is very nice with excellent customer service all around. This was our first visit but we very much enjoyed the beauty of the Hotel and really enjoyed the pool and bar area. It is a great place to stay

For the price it was good

When I booked this resort I thought/assumed it was located on a beach and it is actually two blocks off (a five minute walk - no big deal). They have a shuttle bus or you can walk. When I checked in no one explained any of this to me and I had to ask other guests. It was a few days into the trip that we discovered there was a portion of the beach belonging to our resort with loungers and a bar available. Our room was 105 which is a great location but needs a redo. The sliding balcony door does not latch shut. We had maintenance “fix” it but it soon stopped working. Even the outside handle for the sliding door was missing???????. The air conditioning was wonderful and whisper quiet ?? The laundry room must be down the hall as at around 3am each day you can hear carts being rolled down the hallway. If you are a light sleeper and this will bother you keep it in mind. The plus side of this room is that it’s located ground floor just off the pool and the resort cat likes to come visit you when sitting on the deck???? Food wise the buffet is small but adequate for what we wanted. Sadly no guacamole but lots of fresh fruit. There is a specialty restaurant we never visited and not sure if it was included as there was a menu posted outside with prices. The one thing that was disappointing was that we were there Saturday to Saturday and the Friday night prior to arriving they had a Mexican Fiesta night and then did it again on Saturday a week later so we never got to experience it. There was a couple of nights with singer entertainment but not anything listed on their site which says “Our recreation program includes: water aerobics, beach volleyball, ping pong, beach soccer, bingo, water polo, dance classes, cooking and cocktail workshops and much more. At night, get ready to enjoy our shows hosted by our specialized staff filled with energy and creativity.” Not sure if this was due to the time of year (one week starting on the Saturday after Good Friday/ Easter). Lots of Canadians stay here and some for weeks at a time. All in all, for the price it was good. We didn’t want a big fancy resort. Location for taking the local bus into town or to the Marina for Thursday night market (it was much larger than we thought it would be) makes it a great location. Staff are very friendly and always wanting to make sure you are fine. One thing that was extremely nice and unexpected was they didn’t remove my band upon checkout as my flight was a night flight and they told me to enjoy lunch before leaving. We booked through WestJet Vacations.

Tropical Mexican Charm

Jennifer L (Tacoma, Washington) on Apr 08, 2024

The resort is full of mexican charm. It's just off a very busy road, which makes for a great location. Once inside the resort, you are transported to a tropical paradise. The outside world disappears. The pool and grounds are well care for. The resort is old, but it was very clean. Every employee we encountered was friendly and personable. From the receptionist, to the hostess, to the servers and bartenders. They were all fabulous! We didn't get all their names, but to name a few, Ivan, Roberto, Elfen and Alfonso were exellent. Always so happy to see us. The buffet was plentiful, with lots of choices. We ate there every morning for breakfast. My favorite thing was the french toast! It was delicious! We ate dinner there a few nights. Lots of good choices. We never experienced lunch at the buffet. We did try out the snack bar a few times. We also ate at the "fancy" restaurant twice. It was delicous both times. Roberto was excellent. We felt very pampered. Through out the resort and at the beach, drinks were plentiful. My favorite, a red mojito! The beach is an easy walk of less than 5 minutes away. Lots of loungers available. Two downfalls of the beach, no bathroom! and the venders are NON stop! They weren't pushy, but impossible to carry on a conversation, as they interrupt every 2 minutes. Other than that, the beach was beautiful. We talked with lots of people who make this an annual destination. I can see why. I would definitely go back! There are a few small things that would improve this resort. The first would be to update the one dresser in the room. Ours was broken. One drawer couldn't be opened. We only had 2 and a half working drawers, which were always really hard to open and shut. We only had 8 hangers, so we were triple hanging things. With two people sharing a room, there wasn't enough storage. Also, the safe was useless. One other small change, would be to add another mirror to the bathroom. The bathroom counter is large, with an additional mirror, two people could be getting ready at the same time. Just minor changes that would improve your guests experience.

Mexican charm!

Da1stlady (London, Canada) on Apr 04, 2024

Great experience. Staff were so friendly and super helpful. We went over the easter holiday so it was slightly crowded. Notwithstanding, service was still top-notch. Great food and the drinks just kept coming. With the help of one of the housekeeping staff Arides, the hotel surprised us with a bottle of champagne and chocolates for our anniversary. Our bartender Crescendio was amazing as well. Always checking in to see that I had something in my cup :) The beach is not attached to the hotel but it is only a 5min walk and when you get there, the hotel has a concessioned spot available with drinks provided. Jorge provided really good service as well. The only downside to our stay was the weak wifi. It didn't work properly when in the room but worked fine once in the common areas. Overall our stay was great and if we are ever back in PV, we'll be staying here again. Ps, the weird pillowcases in the pictures are ours lol

Very charming

Very beautiful and charming. The service was nice and the quality of the food was very good. The beach is close to the hotel, but there is no toilet. You have to go all the way back to the hotel. Smoking is not allowed in the whole hotel area. Me as a smoker didn't like that. A smoking area would have been nice, but it's ok.
