Budget Friendly?
DM1108 (White Rock, Canada) on Dec 07, 2024
We found the staff to be attentive and overall a great budget friendly all inclusive. It is aged and needs much needed TLC, people leave their dishes and drink cups in the halls and they were rarely picked up while we were there for a week. Our room had old bathroom fixtures difficult to turn on the taps or to flush the toilet. The bed was very comfortable, and the adjustable air conditioning was great. There are no elevators and a lot of stairs, one corridor has ramps if you can find them. The food was okay but needs a variety between lunch and dinner. We did enjoy the theme nights and the entertainment, an unexpected bonus. Note this is not on the beach and requires either a brief walk or shuttle, we enjoyed the walk through the alleyway which gave us a glimpse of an older Mexico. Most of the guests were Mexican families, so a lot of kids in the pool - fun to see all age groups having fun. Biggest complaint — we were charged a full overnight stay for a four hour late check out. We left at 5pm which meant we paid $230 (Cdn) for lunch - huge disappointment and no one is responding to my emails about this. A huge misunderstanding ? The area is walkable with buses and good shopping we would stay in that area again (and we heard of no crocodiles at the closest beach while we were there.
Average at best

We stayed at this resort for 5 nights with family. Positives: Beautiful greenery, a lovely lobby with authentic Mexican vibes, and well-maintained outdoor areas. The pool area was kept clean. No convinient access to the beach but the shuttle service to the beach was nice to have. The Mexican restaurant was a highlight—amazing dinner and excellent service from Alfredo. Special thanks to Captain Jesus for the delicious shrimp and steak kebabs, one of the best meal of our trip to Mexico! Negatives: Communication was difficult as most staff didn’t speak any English. The buffet food was terrible—greasy, repetitive, and often repurposed for the next meal. The hotel is dated and poorly maintained: old doorknobs, bad bathroom odors, dirty balconies, and water dripping from upper floors onto ours. The extra bed mattress was extremely uncomfortable, with springs digging into the spine. Overall, this resort was not worth the money, and we wouldn’t return.
