Very disappointed with our recent stay at Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach from May 9–16, 2026. My family and I have been members since 2021, and unfortunately the quality of service has declined tremendously over the years. This trip was by far our worst experience. Approximately 80% of the staff treated us with rudeness, disrespect, and complete indifference. We never felt welcomed or valued as guests or members. The property maintenance was also extremely poor and unsafe. I suffered a fall after a balcony chair completely collapsed beneath me, and our room’s bathroom door barely opened or closed due to structural issues. To make matters worse, when my son and I became sick during our stay, my husband was told by a staff member that it “didn’t matter” if we went sick to the restaurant because we had already been around the hotel. That level of disregard for guest health and wellbeing was shocking. Our 13-year-old son was charged as an adult, yet there were virtually no activities available for teenagers. Many games and activities were labeled “adults only,” leaving teens with nothing appropriate to do. Even our departure experience on May 16 at 6 AM was terrible. We requested luggage assistance that never arrived, and when we finally reached the lobby ourselves, the employee who appeared treated us with a rude and dismissive attitude. We are deeply saddened because we truly wanted to continue enjoying our membership, but after repeated disappointing experiences in 2023, 2024, and now 2026, we no longer feel comfortable returning. Positive: Location, beach, massage Negative: Room inadequate (room changes are standard, and this happened to us as well). I will upload photos to document this: leaky pipes, noise, dirt. No furnished balcony, even though we booked one. Spanish and English are spoken at reception. Which is fine, however, in the restaurant and with the service staff, only Spanish is understood; NO English is spoken. Reception staff were unfriendly and annoyed. Poor welcome from reception upon arrival. Food was only average. Not recommended.

Good experience at restaurant 77

I stayed for two days with some friends and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was very good and there were always options available throughout the day. Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, and the bathroom was particularly well designed. The beach was beautiful, and we went on an excursion to Saona Island which was so much fun. Overall there was plenty to do around the hotel and it made for a very relaxing stay. I've been to many beaches in the Dominican Republic and the one at this hotel is genuinely the best in my opinion. There is a lot to do at the hotel, so staying several days is definitely worth it.
