Part if the "Sell" in these resorts I have come to realize is the Social Media Hype that circulates on the internet. I know it. You know it. The Corporations know it etc... And this year on my 8th location I decided to follow the "Hype" and give Breathless Punta Cana a try. Not my first time in Pu ta Cana...I have reviewed several resorts. But here I am choosing Breathless because of all the talk...and did it live up to the hype?....The flat answer is....NO. Where do we start... Let's try the check in. From the start I was bombarded with offers to try the "Extra" for sale activities and packages. Make no mistake the prices are beyond unreasonable. From $175 Per Person Beach dinners with the typical baseline menu that always comes served warm at best to the $300 60min Spa Packages that are often if not always limited and lackluster. "VIP" seating by the pool blah blah blah...I booked a Junior King Suite and asked about the upgrade which was offered at $700 additional...I decided to decline. Room wasn't ready until 4pm. Seems as if check in is becoming later and later in the day. Within the room itself I was reminded to NEVER take the photos the resort post for face value. Did the room look similar..yes but very outdated and warn down. Chilling paint,.scratched furniture...on the balcony a jacuzzi tub but the interior was very dated and worn in. Outdoor furniture riddled with cigarette burns. The linens were clean and the towels were fresh..But no bath robes, No complimentary beach bag or slippers. Inside room fridge was stocked with water,soft drinks and a couple of beers. The room itself was clean with a working AC so that was a plus, but often the power went out for a couple of minutes which became a bit annoying (Room 3254) There are 2 pools at the resort on the ADULT SIDE. One which is massive closer to the beach but is clearly for the geriatric crowd. Mostly seniors with Rock and country music playing all day. Then there is the center pool which is in all the advertisements as the featured location. Day time DJ after 3pm, entertainment etc. it's a very basic "OK" but nothing like what is shown on social media. For reference they can't hold a candle to Temptation Cancun...not even close. Let's talk food and drinks ... Both I rate and a smooth flawless 0 for drinks and a high 3 for the food. Let's talk drinks first. Unless you are PAYING for a bottle at the resort best believe EVERYTHING you drink is off brand. Even the Chaser! None of the juices are real, not the Pineapple, Cranberry...Nothing. It's overly sweet syrups. Literally ALL of the spirits are bottom shelf so if you love to get waisted and have a hangover have at it. Explains why at the glow party everyone was told to exit the pool because someone literally threw up in it and they related that it had to be cleaned before the party could "Continue" lol...Nope night was over for me. Room service is available but I have to say that this by far was the worst food known to man. Gummy pizza dough, terrible salad, all the food is clearly the evenings throw aways before it's thrown away. I wouldn't recommend it. Day food by the pool is much better. Breakfast buffet was decent with a wide selection. Best restaurant was definitely the French one. Overall food service needs an overhaul. The service at the resort in my opinion is 50/50. Can't remember her name but the best employee there was the cleaning lady. I can recall multi times going to the bar for ice and being overlooked and waiting patiently for service or standard acknowledgement. It's an evident thing that repeatedly happened. Beach bar is by far the most attentive and professional. But still the selection is terrible and the drinks are far from good. Only positive I will say that was UNDENIABLE was the Gym on site. State of the art, 2 levels, clean and worthy of a daily visit to start the day All in all I wouldn't recommend nor return to this resort. It's overall sell on social media from influencers making these fancy videos showing the best highlights with over hyped narratives are just that...Hype. I for one didn't feel it or see it as it's advertised. It was as basic as it gets. Do what you will with this one. Safe travels everyone

Beautiful resort and impeccable service! Willy is the best employee at Breathless! He took care of our every need! He was friendly, kind and provided wonderful service! Everyone was great! Such a kind and beautiful place! We plan to come back next year! Highly recommend! Love it! ??

Very good experience at this resort. They are doing some remodeling so not all the restaurants were open all the time. Food was great and staff was super fun!

My husband and I had an AMAZING Anniversary trip at Breathless Punta Cana this week! Everything was perfect and that’s essentially thanks to our concierge, Willy. He was funny, friendly, and professional! The resort is blessed to have him on their staff. The resort is beautiful and has everything for the people who want to party AND those that just want to chill. We had relaxing massages and facials at the spa. Dinner every night was delicious!

He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, happy, and had everything we needed. His attentiveness, professionalism, kindness, and willingness to help made us feel like VIPs throughout our entire stay. Fernalys wasn't just our butler; he was a huge part of what made this vacation so special. It's one thing to stay at a beautiful resort, but it's another to receive the kind of genuine, personalized service that leaves a lasting impression. Fernalys truly exceeded every expectation! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Breathless Punta Cana and would absolutely recommend this resort. If you're fortunate enough to have Fernalys as your butler, you're in EXCELLENT hands!
