? Amazing Staff, Fantastic Food and a 10/10 Holiday! ????

? Amazing Staff, Fantastic Food and a 10/10 Holiday! ???? We had an absolutely amazing stay at Meliá Punta Cana, and our experience was genuinely 10/10! From the activities and entertainment to the food, service and little personal touches, everything contributed to a fantastic holiday. The food was amazing, and we honestly cannot fault it! ??? There was so much to enjoy, and we were really impressed with the overall dining experience. A massive thank you to all the restaurant staff for their fantastic service, welcoming attitudes and hard work throughout our stay. The bar staff also deserve a huge shout-out for always being so friendly and attentive. Everyone we encountered helped create such a lovely atmosphere and made us feel welcome. One of our favourite things about the resort was the variety of activities available. A huge thank you to the teams involved in the yoga sessions, bag-making class, cassava tasting class, mud therapy, ice bath and aqua aerobics. These experiences made our holiday even more enjoyable and gave us the opportunity to try new things, have fun and make some amazing memories. The activity teams were fantastic, and we really appreciated the enthusiasm and effort they put into making each experience special. A particularly special mention goes to our dedicated guest service representative, Rebeca Sánchez. Having someone we could contact directly through WhatsApp was such an amazing touch! It made everything so convenient and added an extra level of personal service to our stay. Knowing we had someone we could reach out to whenever we needed assistance made a real difference to our experience. Thank you, Rebeca, for being such a valuable part of our holiday! Overall, what stood out most was the people. From the activity instructors to the restaurant and bar staff, everyone contributed to making our stay memorable. Combined with the amazing food, fantastic activities and excellent guest service, we really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. A massive thank you to Rebeca, all the activity teams, the restaurant and bar staff, and everyone working behind the scenes who helped make our holiday so special. Your hard work and hospitality really did not go unnoticed! We would absolutely recommend Meliá Punta Cana and would happily return. Five stars from us! ????? If you’re looking for a resort with amazing food, plenty of activities, friendly staff and that extra personal touch, Meliá Punta Cana is definitely worth considering. We had an unforgettable holiday and left with some wonderful memories! ????
Very Disappointed and expensive

More staff versed in English. It was very difficult to expess what we needed in our rooms. I had asked for a couple of blankets on the phone and was passed to two people before I got someone to communicate with. It took them 3 hours to bring them to me. Room cleaning staff was very good, however the fellow who brought water to my room later in the day walked right in on me, without knocking and, I was very upset with him and told him to leave and from then on to leave the water outside the door!!
Overall a decent 4* resort

So my review for the Melia Punta Cana resort I would say that this is not a five-star hotel, but a decent 4* for the location. It is a good Al resort, we spent seven nights here as a family and we booked last-minute with TUI. When we arrived we decided to upgrade to TheLevel and we were so glad that we took that option, it was much cheaper than booking the upgrade with TUI. There is no hard sell, just a genuine negotiation when we were checking in at the main reception. Our room was allocated fairly near the beach and main pool. We had a twin room which was clean, tidy and spacious. There were a couple of snagging issues with no accessibility to the bath because the plug was broken, there was lots of scaling in the shower head (the water is quite hard) and we had a dripping tap. If you can look past the small issues that can be fixed quickly, this resort is really good value. While we were there the gym was shut for maintenance and other small painting and electrical jobs were being carried out, which didnt really cause any issues. The grounds are extensive and the overall look is stunning. You definitely need to make the most of the trolley shuttles within the resort to get about. If you are into wellness and fitness you can find some lovely quiet spots or you can find the running track or you can go for a lovely walk down the beach. The pool itself gets quite busy and people do reserve their sunbeds fairly early but we went out quite early each morning just to make sure that we got a good spot and we just enjoyed the day by the pool. We tried most of the restaurants which you can book yourself or via the concierge, they were all of a good standard. We did mostly eat at TheLevel main restaurant which is a la carte for breakfast, lunch & dinner. We found the food standard was good along with a great selection of cocktails, our favorites were the mud slide and the strawberry daiquiri. A highlight for us was having Sushi at TheLevel rooftop bar, as an appetiser. A lowlight was my son getting an icky tummy from eating scallops in the Mediterranean restaurant. We made the most of the free 30-minute massage, as we were Level guests and we spent a lovely afternoon in the spa which again had lovely facilities. Overall the restaurant and bar staff were friendly and would do everything you asked really, but get used to it being at a slightly slower pace. We cannot really comment on the animation team, as they had no real interaction with us, some seemed to be having more fun just hanging out with the younger guests than actually doing their job. The evening entertainment was varied and interesting, but not show stopping. Tipping is good practice at this hotel and they prefer American dollars. All in we had a fantastic week away and I would definitely return to this resort given the opportunity. We met a number of guests who had been there multiple times and book the resort year in year out - this shows that they're doing something right. We were really pleased with the resort overall and have no real complaints. If you don't want to go to the hard sales pitch for the Circle, just don't go! There is no pressure for you to go so don't let those reviews put you off.
Second time and last time.

Stayed at this resort from Oct. 5-10. It was a short stay as it started out as a business event but extended for a few more days with the hubby. This is my second time staying at the Melia. Both times we stayed at the LEVEL. Staff was amazing, helpful and friendly.... especially Sambo (I don't remember his first name). We tipped them a lot and they were grateful. Sadly we won't be returning for these reasons... 1 - rooms were just ok. mediocre at best. The Shower was getting backed up constantly. 2 - the food was HORRIBLE. I got violently (not exaggerating) ill one evening and was in the bathroom (coming from all ends) until about 7a ... I had to reschedule my spa day till the next day so I could get some sleep and then the next day my husband got sick.. we left the resort to eat and that was great 3 - the spa facility was beautiful... I got the coffee exfoliating body scrub treatment and that was great but the actual deep tissue massage as subpar. 4 - the pool was NASTY... I had to ask (several times for 2 different pools) to have someone come clean it out.. (some folks were still swimming in what looked like vomit...) yeah not me. just nasty. 5 - the grounds were absolutely beautiful.. enjoyed walking around... saw iguanas and lots of species of birds... 6 - The beach was beautiful (didn't go near the water .. no real reason) but we opted at not going back to the beach because every freaking second some vendor was coming up to us... I understand them wanting and needing to make their sales but it was egregious... they woke us up out our sleep to ask if we wanted to buy this or upgrade that.... so annoying. Pool side is less but they still did it there too. Hope this review helps someone. I would rank them a 5. Improve your menu, clean your pools, have stricter rules about the vendors on the beach and pool area and did I say keep your pools cleaner???
Balance Juice Bar Melia Welness Punta Cana

Great resort all around. Balance juice bar was the perfect spot for coffee, snacks & juice bar. Helena was there to serve us every morning with a smile and friendly conversation. She made us the perfect coffee every morning and she was the reason we kept coming back. Thank you Helena!
