Review Catalonia Riviera Maya We spent a week here September 2026. We are Gold members and have had very mixed reviews of the membership as our last Catalonia trip was not great. That was Catalonia Bayahibe (although the beach at this resort was spectacular!) Catalonia Riviera Maya might have changed my mind! This time we used private transfer from: Torres Tours and Transfers. They were great! Asked us what beer we liked and had it on board for the over an hour trip! They were on time if not early! Very professional and friendly. We arrived at Catalonia Riviera Maya and were welcomed quickly and taken to the ETC check in room. I had already pre-checked in so our room was ready and waiting. The room was small but so well appointed. It had a separate living area and a completely closed off bedroom. I really liked it. Double vanity in the washroom and lots of space when you really looked around! The entire property was immaculate! The pools were constantly being cleaned. You can imagine the gunk from people and their greasy SPF! They had more Agouti running around than Coati, but someone did mention they saw a coati. We did not. Iguanas were lurking around too. The food was best in BLoved restaurant but all were doable. We ate breakfast and lunch mostly at BLoved. I couldn’t get enough of the appetizer Taradito, which was raw salmon in a delectable sauce with Serrano peppers (just a couple) and grapefruit? bits. This was served at lunch. We did not try the Japanese as they only offered teppanyaki and we are not fans. The steakhouse was super popular. I ordered the ribeye rare as I heard the steaks were so thin. They are thin. My steak was good. I don’t think I would go back there though as the staff was too rushed to be pleasant. All restaurants served the food very quickly. They have a burger bar upstairs with all the other restaurants and we heard it was amazing but we never had the chance to try it. It would be great if it was open for lunch, but it never was. We enjoyed the Italian and ate there twice. I super liked the spaghetti and meatballs oddly enough. The restaurants I noticed were extremely clean! I was checking out the wonderful glass lights above us and there was not a speck of dust on them. Shiny and beautiful! Mine at home should be that clean! The beach at this resort was not great! Tons of rocks to get in so I didn’t try it at all. The area smelled bad too. The beach area around Yucatan was better but we didn’t bother to venture over there much. No sargassum issues though. We enjoyed our butler Manuel and Concierge Aurora so much. They could not do enough for us! They would see us walking to dinner and insisted on walking with us. They ensured we received the Gold Member service before they left us to enjoy our food! So nice! I asked them for a box of milk for my tea in the room and it arrived within minutes! Such fast service! Every question was answered in seconds. We rented a golf cart to explore the gated community, saw the dolphins, shopped and ate the most wonderful stuffed poblanos! No Adults only areas. But since we travelled in the first back to school days (September), there wasn’t many children around. I’d come back to this resort at the same time next year!

We have wonderful time, simply , beautifully and clean hotel , the ala carte restaurants was surprisingly very good , you feel in five star restaurant , the portions food is small but enough to feeds you. One advice , if you go to the free shopping excursion , pay cash . They screw your in the credit card , also is very boring. . I don’t recommend ! Staff in the hotel is very friendly and helpful , specially the housekeeper, the servers in the restaurant and in the bars ..we definitely going back .

We had the most amazing stay at this hotel. The food was so delicious with so much to choose from, the facilities were perfect and the view from the room was beautiful. The staff were such hard workers - the pool was being cleaned multiple times a day, the paths constantly being swept, the pool toilets kept fresh and the waiters / waitresses in the main buffet restaurant were amazing, never leaving you with an empty glass. Special shoutouts to the entertainment team who made our stay extra enjoyable - Jared, Jesus, Gabriella, Kevin and the others we didn’t catch the names of - and all the bar staff at Margarita’s bar - especially Raul and Samuel. The rock show was absolutely amazing, one of the best shows I’ve seen. Only thing I’d recommend is bringing some mosquito spray - they’re not as bad at the hotel, but leaving the resort you’ll definitely need some repellent. They sell some in the hotel shop too. We would love to return in the future. Thank you!

Manuela was a superstar in the lobby bar. She was very attentive and keen to ensure we stayed hydrated. Fantastic service.
