Just checked out after a week at Grand Velas and an absolutely exceptional stay. We stayed in the Zen area - room was lovely, really spacious and well appointed. We spent time between the Zen pool, the beach and the Ambassador pool. The shuttle works really well, always available and convenient. Standout for us was the food and drinks - absolutely exceptional all round. We did struggle to get reservations (thank you to our concierge Orlando for sorting for us!!) so do book in advance - Frieda, Lucca, Bistro and Cen Lin were all our favourites but everywhere was great. The choice at breakfast was great, loved the coffee shop too, and the buffet lunch as well as poolside and beach bbq options were all fab. We were travelling with two kids - our 7 year old loved the kids club. One recommendation is there were some sessions which were purely for girls (2 hr hair braiding followed by a princess show) which our son was not a fan of, be great to have other activities running at those times - but a small point and in general was great. Our older son loved the teens club - from PlayStations, to golf simulators, loads for him to do which can be a struggle for the preteens! Beach watersports are also great, we loved the catamaran experience. We were also able to arrange a babysitter for 2 movies and room service for the kids while we had an adult dinner which was a major bonus! And our son had a massage in the kids spa which was a lovely treat. Overall a really great stay. This is all inclusive at another level; everything was top quality and totally worth it. Every member of staff we met were friendly and helpful and took such great care of us which really made such a difference. Thank you and we will be back!

Our recent stay at Grand Velas was nothing short of exceptional. Travelling as a family of eight, ranging in age from 3 to 75, we were all completely delighted by how effortlessly the hotel catered to each of us. It’s rare to find a place that genuinely suits every generation, but Grand Velas achieves this beautifully. A very special thank you to our wonderful concierges, Sofia, Nora, and Daniel, who truly elevated our experience. They seamlessly organised all of our dinner reservations and activities, and each day we received a thoughtfully prepared list of events, ensuring we never missed out on anything. Their attention to detail and warm, professional approach made everything feel easy and perfectly tailored. The beach service was equally impressive, with attentive staff always ready to arrange loungers and bring refreshing drinks with a smile. The adult pool area was serene, elegant, and blissfully peaceful — the perfect retreat — while the children were absolutely thrilled with the expansive Ambassador pool and the wide range of activities on offer. A standout mention must go to Braulio, who was constantly present, engaging, and wonderfully entertaining — a real asset to the resort. Saul also deserves recognition for his energy and enthusiasm, motivating us with fantastic beach and gym workouts, alongside Edith, who was equally fabulous in the gym. We celebrated two birthdays during our stay, and the hotel went above and beyond to make them truly special. From balloons beautifully arranged in our rooms to the heartfelt celebratory songs and delicious cakes at Frida and Chaka, every detail was handled with care and joy. We also loved spending time in the Zen area, which offered a completely different atmosphere with its lush jungle setting — peaceful, atmospheric, and complemented by the excellent Koi bar. Grand Velas delivers luxury, warmth, and impeccable service in every aspect. It created unforgettable memories for our entire family, and we would return in a heartbeat.

Absolutely an amazing time… everyone was 5 star the service …,rooms immaculate… grand class accommodations and our favorite staff employees at the Bistro restaurant the best there is for sure very , attentive, Eduardo, Alix, the pool bartender so much fun.

My husband, our teenagers, & I stayed in the Ambassador section, which is worth the extra cost to be at the beach. We repeatedly visit Riviera Maya because the people provide the warmest hospitality with the biggest smiles. Grand Velas staff worked hard to remember our preferences & greet us by name. Eli at Lucca, Isaac at Bistro, Javier & Luciano at the beach, Jazmin, Reyes & Daniel at the pool especially wowed us with their service! Cynthia was friendly in the coffee shop each morning. Diana & Francisco were very attentive personal concierges assigned to our family for our stay. Grand Velas is a big & beautiful & well-kept resort with plenty of food & drinks at all times-similar in quality & variety to Disney Cruise Line. Don’t miss the lobster-grilled fresh & served on the beach in the afternoon. Buffets are available, but we preferred to eat at Bistro for table service at breakfast & pool or beachside for lunch. Bistro & Lucca were favorite dinners. Reservations required. Plenty for all ages to enjoy! GV is a 35min drive from Cancun airport, which we had prearranged with the resort roundtrip.

Wow! What an amazing experience! My husband, 9 yo son and I had an unbelievable time at the Grand Velas Riviera Maya resort thanks to the amazing staff! Alfonso, Braulio & Enrique went above and beyond to make our trip special & unforgettable! Always friendly, engaging & at the ready for all of our needs (& then some- special treats awaited us frequently without request). We can’t thank you enough! You are the best!!!
