So happy with this resort

Everything was top notch. We have been to multiple resorts in the area and this is now our go-to. From the minute we pulled up we were treated like royalty. The service is incredible, the rooms are huge, and the food was the best we’ve ever eaten. Also, the beach and pool Are impeccably maintained and beautiful. If I could make any suggestion, it would be to build a hot tub somewhere on the property. There are large jetted tubs in the rooms, but I like being outside in a hot tub. Otherwise, we couldn’t have been happier!

Fabulous hotel

A fabulous hotel that certainly deserves its reputation as the best of the best. The food was outstanding - all the meals were presented beautifully and I can honestly say were better than most I have had in my life. The service was also world class and better than we have ever experienced in any other hotel or country. The included wine was good but not outstanding but very drinkable and really great mocktails. We loved the grand class room - it had an amazing view of the ocean and it was kept very clean. The included minibar and snacks were again better than anywhere we have ever been and were re-stocked daily. They thought of everything. We ate at all the restaurants but our favourites were Piaf and Bistro. Our concierge Guillerme was very helpful. The gyms were fabulous. We had two small gripes - firstly there was very little entertainment in the day and even less at night - even the bars were very quiet. Also the situation regarding tipping was confusing. The hotel markets itself as gratuities included but we had to sign zero cost cheques after each meal or drink which left space for a tip but we felt that this was unfair as we had paid a lot more for this hotel than others on the understanding that staff would be better remunerated than at other hotels as gratuities were included. I hope this is the case because they all deserved to be. A great hotel which I highly recommend for people who just want to eat, drink and chill.

WE CANT SAY ENOUGH ON THE SERVICE AND FOOD, BOTH WERE ABOVE AND BEYOND ANY RESORT WE HAVE STAYED AT- BEACH SERVICE!*( DANIEL, AND MARIO) EXCELLENT! RESTAURANT STAFF AMAZING, FOOD PRESENTAION, TASTE AND WINES WERE DELIECTABLE, AND ALL ROUND WELCOMING AND GENEROUS....FIRST RESORT WE ARE PLANNING TO RETURN AS SOON AS WE CAN! THANK YOU TO ALL THE GRAND VELAS STAFF......

Service Beyond Measure!

We had the pleasure of celebrating our first anniversary back where we got married - Grand Velas Riviera Maya. Grand Velas excels at everything they do, and it is by far the best all inclusive resort that we have ever stayed at. It is very clear that Grand Velas prides themselves on incredible service so I wanted to take a moment to highlight some individuals who truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND at a resort where service is of paramount importance - Lucina at Azul and Francisco & Fernando at Bistro! They truly took what was already an unforgettable trip and made it even better. Thank you Lucina, Francisco, and Fernando!

Be careful!

I would normally give this resort 5 stars, but this was my second visit—1st time with my company and 2nd time for a friend’s wedding and both times, we had items that “disappeared.” Fortunately, we realized quickly on the 1st visit and after badgering, the item was located in a bathroom. The second visit, we were not so lucky and my Fitbit watch was stolen at the pool. A guest saw a hotel employee take it and said the staff member was taking it to lost and found. I filed a report but of course it was never found. We will not be back.
