1. Air conditioner maintenance and repair should have been quicker. 2. Fabric on pool chairs and beach chair canopies has mild stains and should be replaced. 3. Catch of the day was the same for multiple days. Mahi Mahi. More shellfish on menu would have been better

This was our second visit to Royal Hideaway Playacar, and we will definitely be back! The staff was consistently friendly, cheerful and helpful, and went out of their way to ensure a wonderful experience. Fernanda, our concierge, was happy to help us with details, and eager to help meet any needs that came up. Alexa and Carlos (with help from Roberto) kept the activities fun and entertaining - we laughed and had a great time anytime they were around! The restaurants were great - although the food quality was maybe slightly lower than last year. The servers (with one exception at dinner one evening) were all attentive and pleasant. Several stood out as truly exceptional - Godoy at The Grill and another gentleman whose name I failed to write down at Spices - both took wonderful care of us. The bartenders at the poolside bar were speedy with the drinks, and seemed to be having fun doing their jobs - Samuel was especially entertaining. While the resort is fairly tame, there were some fun options for nightlife at the Alegria Bar - the jazz combo they featured was a fun listen. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful setting, and don't mind being spoiled rotten while you're there, Royal Hideaway Playacar is a great choice!

Another wonderful trip to the RH. This was our third visit and the resort and staff did not disappoint. This year we shared our secret with my brother and his wife who are very new to the AI experience and travel in general. Asked if they would return, their reply was 'in a heart beat'. No resort is perfect for everyone all the time, but this one comes very close. Food is fantastic, staff are friendly, and the grounds impeccable. What really made our trip is the fact that after the first day at the resort the staff knew that my brother does not drink alcohol, and they responded perfectly. The bar staff hoarded zero beers for him. The staff knew he would want them at dinner and had a small supply at each restaurant. All his cocktails were virgin. Things like this show customer service. Now, a huge shout out to Gabriella, our concierge. Over the top service all the time. From dinner reservations to tips on where to shop, and all the great stories in between. Thank you Gabi! And not to be forgotten, Sucel, our concierge last year, who helped in our first few nights of dinner reservations prior to our arrival, and securing our dinner at the Mexican festa. Thank you Sucel!!! And finally, David our server at Ventanas, thank you for the excellent service! You are a true professional and made our stay memorable. Gracias amigo. This year we are happy that the resort has some evening entertainment/shows. We enjoyed the Michael Jackson show, the Caribbean show, the fiesta, the circus, and the musicians that played various evenings. Please continue with this and it adds to the experience significantly. The only complaint, beyond the control of the resort, is the sargassum in the ocean. This year the waters were cloudy and the weed a little more present than other years. In following the Playa del Carmen news sargassum has been an issue all year. Thank you RH for another Royal treatment!

Such a lovely lovely resort. A guarantee to be an excellent choice for any time of year. This resort has added a warm heated pool. That is a rare find in all of Q Roo. So relaxing. The beach is beautiful. Cannot find a better adults only resort in Playacar. We highly recommend the Royal Hideaway for your next special vacation.

we have stayed all over Riviera Maya and this is one of our favorite properties because it is quiet!
