My family takes a vacation together every year, and unfortunately Ocean Riviera Paradise was by far our worst experience. I don’t like making blanket statements, but some staff clearly prioritized guests on the “privilege” plan over the rest of us — and this really isn’t a true all-inclusive resort, since nearly everything comes with an upcharge. The grounds are pretty, but they’re overdue for repairs. The beach was unusable because of heavy seaweed. Loose animals roam the guest floors, and for two full days no one cleaned up after them near our room. Food was underwhelming and service was slow across the board — the buffet and steakhouse were the only solid meals. At the pool, I watched a server help everyone around me while skipping me entirely. Safety was a real concern too: our 3rd-floor room (in the family section) had a balcony door that wouldn’t lock. Housekeeping felt like a rushed turnover rather than a real cleaning. On top of all that, we couldn’t go anywhere — breakfast, the pool, just walking the property — without being approached to buy something. Lines for everything only added to the frustration. To be fair, the staff we interacted with worked hard, and we made the best of our trip. But this resort needs better management and a real look at how it treats guests who aren’t on the upgraded plan.

Lovely resort! It’s very big so nothing ever feels crowded. Activities were fun, they always had volleyball going whether at the beach or at the pool. We played with Oswaldo and had a great time Be prepared for some wait times, especially to book the steak house or certain buffet times. Food was okay, I recommend the Italian restaurant and the beach restaurant.

My family and I stayed at the Ocean Riviera Paradise from July 18–24 for our annual family vacation, and unfortunately it was the worst resort experience we’ve ever had. We travel together every year, and this resort fell far below our expectations. 1. Raccoons Everywhere The raccoon problem was unbelievable. We saw raccoons throughout the resort, including in the hotel stairwells and around guest rooms. The worst experience was at Pez Vela, where a raccoon came right up to our dinner table while we were eating. The restaurant staff did nothing until my husband and I repeatedly complained, and only then were we moved to another table. To make matters worse, my daughter found a bug in her food that same evening, so we left immediately. 2. Poor Customer Service After finding a bug in my daughter’s meal, I took a photo and reported it to Guest Services. I expected an apology or some concern for food safety, but nothing was done. The lack of accountability was extremely disappointing. 3. Restaurant Reservation Process The restaurant reservation system was frustrating. Guests begin lining up around 7:00 a.m., even though the reservation desk doesn’t open until 8:30 a.m., leaving people standing outside in the heat for over an hour. We were also told that purchasing bottles of wine would allow our family to be seated together, which felt inappropriate and unnecessary. 4. Rooms Our room itself was decent, but our original first-floor room was surrounded by raccoons and other animals, making it impossible to enjoy the patio. We felt uncomfortable even opening the patio door. Thankfully, the hotel moved us to a fourth-floor room where we no longer had that issue. 5. The Beach Was a Huge Disappointment If you’re choosing this resort for the beach, think twice. There was virtually no usable beachfront during our stay. My family loves spending time at the beach, and this was the biggest disappointment of our trip. The resort photos do not accurately reflect the current condition. The beach was covered with piles of smelly seaweed that were left sitting there, making the area unpleasant to use. 6. Constant Sales Pitches We were approached throughout the resort by people trying to sell excursions, upgrades, or other products. It became exhausting when all we wanted to do was relax. 7. Food Was Underwhelming The food was disappointing overall. My children, who usually enjoy trying different foods, struggled to find meals they liked. I found myself eating mostly fresh fruit and bread throughout the week. I also wish the resort had offered more authentic Mexican cuisine instead of the limited options available. 8. Entertainment The entertainment was one of the few bright spots. We really enjoyed the Michael Jackson show and the Mexico Show, and the performers did a great job. Overall This resort did not deliver the relaxing family vacation we were looking forward to. Between the raccoon problem, poor customer service, disappointing beach, food quality, and frustrating reservation process, we left feeling frustrated but we made the best of it since we were together. I hope management addresses these issues because the property has potential, but based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here.

The entire experience was amazing. I will definitely come back to this hotel. There’s a lot to do every day. Including night shows, theater, movies, bowling, etc..All the staff are always happy and willing to help at all time. Specially Mr. William which was one of the staff members that was always with a smile and guiding us everywhere around the hotel. He was literally at the pool, at the volleyball court and even hosting night shows. My son absolutely loved him, he was everywhere and with a great attitude. Amazing customer service!!!!! We loved our stay!!!

We had an amazing vacation, and our boys absolutely loved the Teens Club! Greg did a fantastic job keeping the activities fun, interactive, and engaging every day. He was always energetic, friendly, and made everyone feel welcome. Our teenagers looked forward to spending time there, which made our vacation even more relaxing. Thank you, Greg, for making their experience so memorable. We hope to see you again on our next visit!
