Great holiday

jkeensdumas on Jun 30, 2025

Had a good experience the hotel is easily assessable to public transport and places to eat. The beds were comfortable so I had a good night rest after being out all day. Breakfast had a nice variety. Had one issue with the wifi being slow

Chilled out, just what we wanted.

Frank D on Jun 23, 2025

We came here for a week before going to The Magdalena Grande Beach 4 star in Tobago (you can ead my review for there on this site). We were initially booked in for The Inn side (which apparently had the noisy night club behind it) and upon arrival were directed to the main hotel to a first floor room overlooking a pool behind the main pool area. What bliss, hardly anyone there during our stay and felt like it waS our private pool We wanted a really chilled holiday and this is what we got. Staff were always smiling and service was good. Cocktails and bottled beer was very good but they could do with beer being on tap. Room was comfortable. had a coffee percolator (replenished daily) in there which was a life saver as I don't like the cheap nasty nescafe satches (which were supplied in 4 star Magdalena Grande Beach Resort). Even a microwave in a little self contained kitchen was a bonus but never used. There wasn't much entertainment but that didn't bother us. Some staff had very good voices on the karaoke. Overall, a great experience and would come back. Sometimes, smaller is better as the whole experience was by far a better holiday than the 4. star Magdalena we stayed in Tobago, which in my view, was pretty dire. There was a 2 hour journey to an from che airport which certainly was an experience, especialy the one to the hotel. We would definitely come back here, even for 2 weeks because we were so chilled out. Unfortunately, we cannot say the same for the other part of our holiday Magdalena Grande Beach Resort in Tabago. Absolutely nothing Grande about it. We did go out to shops and a few bars outside the hotel and felt totally safe. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay memorable Wil see you again

Not an All Inclusive Hotel - this hotel is not close to the beach - Disappointing.

343bq (United Kingdom) on Jun 05, 2025

I made a booking for this holiday in January 2025 and when I booked, I booked their All-Inclusive option. As far as I am aware and as far as I have experienced to-date, All Inclusive means that there will be food, snacks and beverages available throughout the day, not a set menu for lunch and dinner. This is what I got; lunch and dinner from set menus and if I wanted to have a steak at dinner, I would have been charged extra, which is diabolical. However, it was not as diabolical as bottled water not being free. I would like to ask, how can I drink rum and other alcohol drinks for free all day, along with other drinks, yet, the only water available was either from a filter machine or I was charged for bottled water? The day we arrived, at our first stop, the driver’s brakes failed and he crashed twice. First, he crashed into a wall, then he crashed into another vehicle in front of him. It was clear that his bus was not fit for purpose, yet our lives were put at risk, unknowingly. I reported the incident to the front desk upon arrival, as did the other passengers. Nothing was said or done after this. At the point of check in, the receptionist was only concerned with charging me an additional £174.00 for local taxes In her haste, she failed to give me the vouchers to which I was entitled to dine at the beach restaurant. I was only given my vouchers towards the end of my holiday, which were no good as I was not going to be at the other hotel and I had already spent money buying food whilst I was there, which was unnecessary. After two days, I enquired how much it would cost to upgrade to the other hotel. They weren't very helpful and told me to ring the concierge, which I did do. The call went straight to the front reception desk, where I had just spoken to staff for them to tell me that the concierge is closed at the weekends and that I should call back on Monday. Please note that this hotel is not by the beach. There is a shuttle bus service which runs every hour too and fro. Alternatively, it is a 15-20 minute walk to their other beach hotel, which is a lot nicer. Bedroom: Was relatively clean. It was cleaned daily, but had a cockroach problem, which I reported several times. I informed the front desk that several cockroaches were coming in as there was a big gap on the door and there was no grill / brush at the bottom (pictures attached). I was told that it would be fitted, it was not. I had to go back the next day to insist on it being done. No drinks in the fridge in the bedroom. Restaurant / Staff: The food was not unlimited and even when there was a buffet, it was still limited. 8/10 times, food served to me was cold or lukewarm. I make it a habit to never send food back to the kitchen. No snacks throughout the day, only crisps or some stuff in a locked fridge which you had to pay for. There was a female chef making eggs in the morning and she was able to serve at least 3 or 4 people and there was never a queue with her. However, when the male chef was there, he was ridiculously slow and he only had the capacity to serve one person at a time, which resulted in him building up a queue. I had to ask a member of staff if there was somebody who was able to assist him as the queue was almost 6-deep. The food was actually the worst food I have ever had on a Caribbean island. It was bland, lacked flavour and it was always the same fish daily. It was clear that they are catering to British and American tourists. To add insult, they serve gourmet sized portions, which was not satisfactory. The majority of the staff were friendly and polite, to name a few who spoke with me, Harmony, Mandy, Quincey, Lee-Anne, Kelsey, Nildra and Adele There was a day I requested to have a packed lunch and gave the required amount of notice. When I went to collect it, it was not ready and the receptionist didn’t know anything about it. This was not the first or last time I had communicated with reception for them to fail to act on what was agreed. I was due to leave the hotel and the receptionist had to rush to the kitchen to have the 2 lunches made. There was a time when the shuttle bus times changed. When I asked why, I was told the next bus would be with us shortly. I know what shortly means in the Caribbean and asked for clarification. It was not forthcoming, neither was the bus. When I queried the food vouchers again, I was told that it was a miscommunication, which was not true. I explained that I had asked specifically and was told no, that I was not entitled to them. I emailed management to request a refund of some of my money, I’m still waiting for a response. Several times I was seated at tables which were not dressed or prepared for meals. Building: The building is old and dated and could do with modernising. There is absolutely nothing to do there during the day. The weights room had no weights, just a machine which was not safely secured. The WIFI is pretty much non-existent in the bedrooms. I had to sit in the reception area to get a connection. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. I would never stay there again at a cost to myself. The bar area was dirty and the blenders and glasses were not always washed properly. I feel cheated by both British Airways and Bay Garden’s Hotel. It was clear that the reception staff were not clued up on what they should have been doing at check in and they failed to communicate with other teams. This was my first trip to St Lucia and it was marred by this poor experience. I didn’t like the fact that they tried to sell me a time share and got upset when I declined. But of course, I would go back to St Lucia.

Comfortable and accommodating

jwilliams154 (Bridgetown, Barbados) on Jun 02, 2025

Room was clean and comfortable. Air Conditioning worked along with all the other appliances and the beds were made every day. Good Job! Unfortunately, did not get the time to experience any of the other amenities but wish to do so on future visits.

My short stay

Irva F on May 30, 2025

It worked as it was close enough to the event and amenities were within walking distance. ie supermarkets, restaurants, shopping mall etc.. Breakfast was included and was satisfactory as there was a variety available each day.
