Great if you don’t expect to use the electrical outlets in the bathroom

We are just finishing a 4 day stay at the Sheraton Fallsview. I wish that I could say that they exceeded our expectations, but I can’t. The location is excellent. Great proximity to Clifton Hill, the Rainbow Bridge and great view of the falls from the hotel. We loved watching the fireworks from the roof deck. The housekeeping staff were also excellent. The reason for the one star review is that on our 2nd morning we had no hot water in the shower and the fuse in the bathroom would blow every time I would try to dry my hair. You could reset it and it would just blow again a couple seconds later. When I reported this they said someone would come fix it. We’re unsure whether they did this or not. If they did it was not when we were in the room. They did give us one night of free parking, but that was only because I asked for some kind of compensation. Their initial response was just that they’d have someone come look at it. They were not apologetic or trying to make any kind of amends. Then the next morning, I took my shower and tried to dry my hair and the exact same thing happened. This time after the fuse blew the first time, when it was reset, it would blow again immediately even without plugging anything into the socket. My family was all asleep in the room so I really didn’t want to have to wake them up by drying my hair out in the room like I had the day before. I went down to the desk with wet hair and explained the socket situation again. Different person that I spoke with, but again unapologetic and didn’t offer to do anything. All she did is ask if anyone had come the day before to look at it, which I don’t know. We came to see the falls and do things around the area, not hang out in our room, but we do expect the basics of a clean room, comfortable place to sleep and ability to shower and get ready for the day. We expected a fully functioning bathroom for the price we paid to stay here. 2 out of the 3 days we needed to use the bathroom for that purpose, we didn’t get that and they were not even apologetic or compensating for that inconvenience. For that they get a one star review. Unacceptable. The rest of our visit to Niagra Falls was excellent!
Good and bad

Currently here now. Here’s the good: the view from a falls view room is beautiful. The pool on the 7th floor is also just as nice and the location to all the activities is the best. Now the bad: The hotel is old and it shows. The elevators are so slow we waited 20 minutes one night just to get to our floor. This seems to be a common problem. The pillows are just a pile of lumps. The worst pillow and bedding I’ve ever come across. The front desk staff was rude at check in as well. I would NOT recommend staying here and would look at the Marriott up the road.
Great stay and excellent location

It was August, peak vacation time, so the hotel and Falls were very busy. Hotel didn't seem overwhelmed at all - it was organized chaos. We used the valet, which was worth the cost. I didn't wait long to check in, but they offer online check in as well, which i would have used if there was a line. We stayed 2 nights and opted out of housekeeping, but one woman checked on us anyway as we were heading out one morning to ask if we needed more water, towels, etc. Location is at the falls, very close to the bridge. Short walk to all the attractions and many restaurants. Paying for a falls view room is worth it - great view, sofa and chair, fireplace. Juliette balcony is just a door that opens, but at least its fresh air. See the falls and fireworks without fighting the crowd. We did not visit the pool or restaurant but did the wine tasting at the bar. Starbucks on site, but it's terrible - what you order and what you get are 2 different things, and they could not handle the morning crowd .
Book the Fallsview room-worth it!

Beautiful hotel and updated inside. We booked the American falls view room and it was worth it being able to see the falls, and a perfect view of the nightly fireworks. Clean room, updated and no issues. The Italian restaurant on-site was okay. Service was superb from everyone in the resort and at all the restaurants
Poor service when returning deposits and further monies taken

Well what was a lovely trip, didn’t end well. Sheraton firstly did not refund my $150 deposit after we left, despite not using anything in the room. But they took a further $158.49 the day after we left. I have tried emailing Marriott numerous times and just keep being told ‘we have passed your email to the front desk’. This clearly isn’t working. This is a lot of money to just ignore. I would like my money back please Sheraton! This seems to be a common problem from what I have read of other people’s experience.
