Breakfast Buffet Poor, Everything Else Great
Grundoon (Auckland, New Zealand) on Jul 20, 2024
All staff polite, helpful, courteous, attentive. Room not sparkling clean, but OK. The breakfast buffet had some serious sanitation lapses: -plates not completely clean. -flatware not completely clean. -plates stacked for use but still wet. -juice glasses stacked upside down for use (good), but full of post-dishwashing moisture (bad), Based on my experience managing large food service operations, I got the impression that the restaurant was either short of serving ware, had problems with the dishwashing equipment, or both. For example, one day there were no containers for the cream that some people like to put in their coffee. Juice glasses full of cream were served instead. This created a shortage of juice glasses, so regular-sized tumblers were set out for juice. Customers served themselves tumblers full of juice, which caused juice to run out. There also seemed to be a shortage of both servers and managers. If I stay here again I'll save money by foregoing the breakfast package, and get my breakfast from nearby restaurants.
Highly recommended place to stay in Niagara Falls

Location - the best! Close to everything! Like literally one of the best in the area. Lobby - busy but still 5 star vibe. The elderly nice man/Concierge staff in the lobby will welcome you and give you directions on where to go, and free buses to take. He’s awesome! Room - we booked the cheapest room without a view and no window but its absolutely fine. We’re always outside and only there to sleep. Plus this room is still modern, clean, great shower and comfortable beds. Best outdoor pool area overlooking Niagara Falls, tip to go there to watch the fireworks at night (use the hotel towel available in the pool area coz it can get quite cold) I gave it only 4 stars because of the expensive dinner buffet of the hotel, not much food choices, despite the nice chefs serving in the buffet, some waitstaff were not nice and welcoming. One Indian waitress (around 25-30 years old) was so rude to me. There are lots of good restaurants in Niagara Falls, avoid the dinner buffet here, its not worth it. They will even charge you extra for coffee.
Great hotel with some chaos

We have stayed at this hotel twice during Christmas season. The falls view rooms are nice. The corner suite is even better: you may see both falls from your room. The Christmas brunch was great, but they do not charge eligible elite members extra, which was really nice - we offered double tips though on Christmas day. The check-in was a little chaos both times. There were long lines a few years ago. There were no long lines in our recent stay. However, the sign for elite members was not clear to most people, and the clerk at regular check-in did not understand how elite breakfasts work. Anyway, the biggest embarrassment for us and their other guests was that when I opened the room door using the key I just obtained from the front desk, a couple was in their bed! They had probably requested a late check out, but the front desk did not know it! Did not know whether they complained, but we did not complain.
Don't waste your time going here

This is an overpriced, overcrowded hotel with lack of service. I will never return there even though I tend to frequent Marriott hotels as platinum member. There are line ups for everything and no service or accountability. We stayed in 2 rooms. The one had an abundance of large spiders. The other had empty dispensing containers in the bathroom and the door did not lock effectively. When I notified them of this I was told there is no engineer on hand at that time. The room , which should be upgraded with elite status, could not be upgraded as they were full. However they made no attempt to improve it in any way and it was like a staying at a dowdy airport hotel at quadruple the price. They have no idea about customer service. I would only stay at this location if you like being swamped by crowds, waiting for long periods of time as the elevators are too full, paying high prices and having no service. Even the breakfast is low average at best. I do not recommend this hotel!
Amazing View

Stayed here for one night to see the falls and couldn’t fault it, checking in was very quick and reception staff very friendly, booked a falls view room and it was definitely worth the extra money the view was stunning from floor 15, nice big room and very clean, and location was absolutely perfect, didn’t eat here so cannot comment on the food, would definitely return to this hotel.
