Quite disappointed for a Mélia hotel

Vacation20242024 on Feb 17, 2024

We were given a room that wasn’t clean at our arrival and even if we went downstairs to tell the front desk they didn’t move us and they just sent someone to give us the toiletries and emptied the garbage can. They only cleaned it the next morning. At the buffet, the food was ok, there was a good variety, but sometimes we almost finish eating before having someone to offer us something to drink. Service was too long sometimes. WiFi service was very slow and difficult to connect. The beach was great and the animation team were very nice.

Excellent vacation

Peter Q on Feb 17, 2024

We just came back from a 2 weeks vacation from this wonderful hotel , excellent location next to Plaza America and with a beautiful beach , well kept grounds with amazing large pools with lots room to sunbathe . The staff is very friendly and very helpful, Roberto at the lobby bar is amazing and so is Giuliette at main dining room .where you are going to find a large amount and varieties of excellent food including prosciutto and mortadella regularly, and a large varieties of fruits and juices with an amazing lady serving them and wishing her an Happy Birthday this month . We were impressed with a la carte restaurants all very good ,Alexander at the Japanese place not only is a good cook he is also friendly and an artist . We enjoyed the large atrium with glass elevators , lobby piano bar , 24 hours cafeteria with a good selection of snacks including chicken , pork , burgers, french fry and more . We also enjoyed the after lunch/dinner expresso , Brandy and Grappa . If Melia Varadero would improve the serving at the grill area in the main buffet restaurant to eliminate the long lineup this place would be perfect.

Greetings from the Melia Varadero paradise

Adriana L (Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) on Feb 16, 2024

The Melia Varadero is the best resort I have ever been in Cuba. Great location, on an unbelievably gorgeous beach and the most beautiful turquoise sea. Main buffet restaurant with excellent and varied food, three specialty restaurants that I have really enjoyed, and a 24 hour service at the caffetteria, best coffee in the premises! I love to seat outside and enjoy the good service and the sunshine. The rooms are spotless clean, so is the resort, the beds and pillows very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful and really try to please you?? we have live music, entertainment every night and a wealth of activities during the day. Yesterday we played bocce in front of the sea, thank you Aldo for all your help and preparation! Internet is scarse in Cuba but the staff here will do their best to help you. I would definitely like to return to this perfectly managed resort! Grazie Marco.

A stunning view of the peninsula from The Level, penthouse floor of the Melia, Varadero in Cuba

NorthStar08393121127 on Feb 16, 2024

The hotel sits at the base of the triangular peninsula with a commanding vista of the sea on both sides. The Melia is star shaped, with five concentric floors surrounding a large indoor garden of trees and waterways. Service is prompt and friendly at three specialty restaurants and the buffets offer a wide variety of excellent choices. The pool areas have plenty of seating with good bars, great paella and other goodies. The long white beach along the turquoise sea is incomparable. The staff go out of their way to treat you as an honored guest or, one of the family once you relax. Booked for two weeks but now that I’m here, planning to make it three.

Wonderful service !!!

Just returned after a week at Melia Varadero, where the service was fantastic, starting from our day and night maids who made sure our rooms were always clean, beds made along with daaily artistic decoration left for us. The service continued in the Levlel lounge by super friendly and professinal waiters and waitresses, to our concierge staff on the 5th floor. We had an amazing dinners especially at the LAS RESES a Tex Mex a la carte, our waitress Elaine was amazing, because of her we returned 2nd time to have her look after us, very professional. Sekura, Japanese restaurant was good, and my least favourite was the Fuerteventura the international a la carte. Buffet had a good seclection of cheeses, shushi, salami, fresh meats of beef, pork, chicken and fish for you to pick and have the chef cook it for you.. Lots of choices. The Sales staff were amazing, Sales Manager Luis and community Manager Lianne that I had the pleasure of meeting in person. The only downfall if I have to say is the transportation to the golf course, the package we booked included golfing but no transfers even though hotel is next door to Melia Las Americas where golf course is at. Need to get something organized so you can transfer the golfers to and from the course so you do not have to take a taxi each time. I would definitely return to this hotel again in the future.
