President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of WestJet since April 1, 2010. Gregg Saretsky joined WestJet in June 2009 as Vice-President of WestJet Vacations, before being named Executive Vice-President, Operations, for WestJet in October 2009. Mr. Saretsky began his career in aviation with Canadian Airlines in 1985 as a route development planner and rose through the ranks to the position of Vice-President, Airports, and Vice-President, Marketing, before joining Alaska Airlines in 1998 as Senior Vice-President, Marketing & Planning. He also served as Executive Vice-President of Flight Operations and Marketing, responsible for the airline's flight crews, operations, and consumer programs and activities. Mr. Saretsky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia (UBC). In 2012, Mr. Saretsky was named Alberta’s Business Person of the Year by Venture Magazine and in 2013 Mr. Saretsky was named top new CEO by Canadian Business magazine. Mr. Saretsky currently sits on the Boards of the Calgary Telus Convention Centre and alumni UBC.

Vito Culmone joined WestJet as EVP, Finance, and Chief Financial Officer in March 2007. He is responsible for the overall financial management of WestJet, its financial reporting and long-term financial planning, as well as for multiple corporate functions including Audit and Advisory, Controllership, Corporate Real Estate, Fuel, Environment and Government Relations, Investor Relations, Legal and Regulatory, Procurement and Materials, Treasury and Tax.

Prior to joining WestJet, Mr. Culmone enjoyed a 12-year career at Molson Inc. where he worked in a number of business environments. At Molson Mr. Culmone worked both domestically and internationally in various senior leadership roles and gained significant experience in negotiating, evaluating and leading strategic investment opportunities. His previous roles at Molson included Vice-President, Controller and Corporate Finance, Molson Inc. (pre-merger with Coors); Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of Molson U.S.A.; and Vice-President, Commercial Finance at Molson Canada.

Mr. Culmone obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1989 while at PricewaterhouseCoopers and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.

In August 2013, Mr. Culmone joined the board of directors at EPCOR Utilities Inc., an integrated energy company, where he is a member of their audit and health, safety and environment committees.

Fred Cleveland became WestJet’s Executive Vice-President, Operations on January 6, 2014. Fred will oversee technical operations including maintenance, WestJet's Guest Services (Airports) Team, Inflight Services and Flight Operations, which includes the Operational Control Center.

Prior to joining WestJet, Mr. Cleveland was the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice-President of Technical Operations at American Eagle Airlines starting in December of 2009 and prior to that he was the Vice-President of Base Maintenance for American Airlines from 2008 through 2009.

Prior to joining American, Mr. Cleveland served many years in the U.S. Navy in a number of assignments including the Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, The Blue Angels, Navy Fighter Weapons School Top Gun, and Executive Officer of the Naval Air Depot.

Mr. Cleveland received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Systems Management from the Naval Post Graduate School and is a PhD candidate at Oklahoma State University. He is certified by the Department of Defense in Manufacturing, Production and Quality. He is a Certified Professional Logistician by the Society of Logistical Engineers.

Bob Cummings became EVP, Sales, Marketing and Guest Experience, in 2009. His responsibilities include corporate development, network planning and scheduling, revenue management, airline partnerships, marketing and communications, sales, distribution (including call centres), guest experience planning, revenue management and network planning, and WestJet Vacations. Prior to that, he held the title of EVP, Guest Experience and Marketing. Shortly after he joined WestJet in March 2005 as Vice-President, Marketing, Mr. Cummings mobilized his team to create the WestJet owners advertising campaign, which has been WestJet’s most successful brand communications platform to date.

Prior to joining WestJet, Mr. Cummings worked for over eight years in the wireless industry in Canada including a one-year position in Romania launching the country's first mobile phone service.

Mr. Cummings was named Canada's top marketing executive by Canadian Business magazine in 2008. In 2013, Mr. Cummings was named one of the top six marketing executives in airlines by the Blue Sky organization.

Mr. Cummings achieved his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1989 from the University of Victoria, followed by a Masters in Business Administration from Queen's University in 1992.

Brigid Pelino joined WestJet as EVP, People and Culture in August, 2013. Ms. Pelino is responsible for overseeing all aspects of WestJet's People (human resources) department.

Brigid joined WestJet from Tim Hortons. Brigid started with Tim Hortons in 2001 as Vice President, Human Resources and was appointed Executive Vice President, Human Resources in August 2012. Tim Hortons is an icon in Canada and as a result Brigid is able to bring a unique perspective to WestJet.

Prior to Brigid’s employment at Tim Horton’s, she held increasingly senior human resource roles at Canadian Tire Corporation, Honeywell Aerospace (based in Los Angeles, California) and General Electric.

Brigid earned her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree (economics and accounting) and her Masters in Industrial Relations at the University of Toronto. Brigid was also active in the development of women leaders in the food service industry, having served as Executive Chair of the Women’s Foodservice Forum.

Ferio Pugliese became EVP and President of WestJet's regional airline, WestJet Encore, in November 2012. Mr. Pugliese joined WestJet in 2007. Serving in his previous role as WestJet's EVP, Culture and Inflight Services, Mr. Pugliese was responsible for overseeing all aspects of WestJet's People (human resources, corporate real-estate and inflight services) department.

Prior to joining WestJet his previous roles included Vice President, Human Resources, at Catalyst Paper Corporation in Vancouver, Director of Human Resources Development at Windsor Casino Ltd., and Director of Human Resources Development at Casino Rama, Carnival Resorts and Casinos.

A Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), Mr. Pugliese holds a Master of Arts degree in Adult Education from Central Michigan University, an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science and an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor, and completed the Richard Ivey School of Business executive development program. He is a member of the Conference Board of Canada's Human Resources Executive Council and has worked in various senior leadership roles. In 2007, Mr. Pugliese was recognized by Caldwell Partners as one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40.

Cheryl Smith became EVP and Chief Information Officer (CIO) in April 2011. As WestJet's first CIO, Ms. Smith is responsible for the strategic direction of Information Technology (IT) at WestJet as it continues to be a key differentiator in delivering the Corporation's exceptional guest experience. In her role as CIO, Ms. Smith also oversees the daily IT operations that support WestJet’s day-to-day operations. Her mission is to ensure WestJet's IT process and team achieves a level of operational excellence that supports WestJet's rapid growth.

Ms. Smith brings more than 30 years of experience in IT design, development, implementation and operations to her leadership role at WestJet. She has been the CIO for McKesson, the largest health-care company in the world, as well as the CIO for KeySpan Energy, a major gas and electric energy company in the eastern U.S. She has held executive positions in IT at Verizon and Honeywell Federal Systems and was a principal in the technology consulting division at Ernst & Young. Most recently, Ms. Smith was the Chief Executive Officer of the technology-based venture start-up Utility.net, a company that offers high-speed low-cost Internet access to rural areas.

Ms. Smith is the co-founder of the CIO Institute, a certificate program that she helped found at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, which has now spread to a number of universities around the world. Ms. Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters in Public Administration, both from Pennsylvania State University.
