Nice resort but broken clothes dryer, no WIFI, and low water pressure in the kitchen was terrible!

We booked a nine day trip to Kauai staying at the Waipouli Beach Resort through Kauai Calls. Come to find out that the dryer is broken and would not be fixed until the day we were leaving. Since Kauai Calls knew it has broken after the last guest and would be broken during our stay, they should have let us know BEFORE our trip and offered us some options. Instead, I only found out before we got there since I was confirming they had a washer and dryer in the unit. Kauai Calls did offer to pick up and drop off our laundry but it was inconvenient. This would have been OK if not for the fact that the WIFI was also broken. Given I had some important business meetings during my trip, the shoddy internet connectivity posed a real problem. I have stayed at hotels all over the US and even cheaper hotels did not have as many problems. My son - who lives for his online games - had to call technical support who told us ours was the ONLY unit that was having wifi issues! After numerous failed attempts to connect to the internet in the room, I had to sit in a Starbucks and use my cell phone data plan to connect. Finally, the hot water in the kitchen had no pressure making washing dishes in the condo extremely hard. Kauai Calls did give us a certificate for breakfast the last day of our stay and were professional dealing with our complaints. Regardless, these three things really put a dent in our otherwise peaceful vacation. We were otherwise happy with the resort, amenities and staff.

We stayed 5 nights here while in Kauai and we loved this condo. It was beautiful and the kitchen had all the essentials. The pool is amazing. It has kind of a lazy river style with some waterfalls, a larger area to swim in and 2 slides. The landscaping is beautiful as well. You also get towels to use at the pool. Staff was also very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

The rooms, pool , fitness center and staff where all 5 stars . Location is great for going to North or South shore adventures. Wailua river is right there. Oasis on the beach restaurant was excellent. Only negative is that the beach was not the best for swimming

Average and far from 4-star resort

Be sure to read the fine print for additional resort fees when booking through Costco as you will end up paying much more than the package price. It’s borderline false advertisement. Cons: Issues with the resort itself included poor room maintenance, room reeked of cigarette smoke, dryer did not work properly, and bedding/pillows smelt of body odor. The outdoor BBQs temperature gauges were all broken. The Access code for the pool is too long and unnecessary. You are given a very limited number of towels to use and will end up using pool towels as room towels, which are also limited per room/day. The Location is close to a busy area in town and sirens are frequently heard. Zero condiments or cooking spices/oils, only dishes. Beach is very small and lacks functional lounge chairs and not great for swimming. No sunset. Pros: Oasis restaurant has awesome food and the best Mai Tais you’ll have on the island. Pool is also great for kids and offers 2 adult only hot tubs. Plenty of comfortable lounge chairs as well. Resort is centrally located on the island and within walking distance to grocery stores/shopping centers.

    Wonderful!

We have travelled to and stayed at Waipouli Beach resort in two separate occasions, both times with family. It’s a short drive from the airport and has amazing amenities. The beach, while beautiful, has limited swimming due to the large amount of coral/rock under the water however it is swimmable if you are careful. The pool is AMAZING!!!! Night swimming the the best, the temperature is perfect and there are gorgeous torches burning all along the pool giving off such a neat atmosphere. The hot tubs have a sand bottom which is nice. The condo unit we rented was perfect. The resort is always quiet and laid back. Bikes are available to rent from the front and there is a bike path to take that snakes all along the coast with numerous beaches to stop at along the way. Shopping wise, there is a supermarket directly across the street as well as restaurants close by. The grounds are beautiful and kept in top shape. Sure there are small surface wear issues, some flaking paint on the soffits but nothing at all that would impact a persons stay. If you’re looking to be super busy this probably isn’t the place to stay but if you want to sit back and relax it’s a must!!!
