Poor Service and Lack of Parking for Local Customers

Inspire412203 on May 02, 2024

As a resident of Turks and Caicos, I have always enjoyed having lunch at the West Indies TCI restaurant. However, during my last visit, I had an unpleasant surprise regarding parking and customer service. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I realized there were no available parking spots. I asked one of the hotel staff where the restaurant is located if they could indicate where I could park, as I was going to eat there. To my astonishment, I was informed that parking was reserved only for hotel guests and that I should park at a nearby restaurant called Opus One. I have always been a regular customer at West Indies TCI and find it very pleasant, so I don't understand how they can treat local customers this way, forcing them to park very far from the restaurant. This is a major inconvenience and a lack of consideration for those of us who live in the area and want to enjoy their establishment. In my opinion, this is terrible customer service. The restaurant should provide adequate parking for all their customers, regardless of whether they are hotel guests or local residents. This experience has made me reconsider my future visits to West Indies TCI and has definitely tarnished my perception of the restaurant. I hope management takes note of this issue and makes the necessary changes to ensure that all customers, both local and foreign, feel welcome and valued. Otherwise, they are likely to lose the business of Turks and Caicos residents who have been loyal customers for years. Francisco

Turks and Caicos through Great Escapes Travel

Beachgoerandwife (Danbury, Connecticut) on Apr 25, 2024

My wife and I wanted to go on a beach vacation so we called Mike Peruggia at Great Escapes Travel. Mike set us up at a wonderful resort in Turks and Caicos – The Royal West Indies Resort in Grace Bay. Great Escapes Travel got us a waterfront room, and transfers to and from the airport at this wonderful resort. We stayed in room 134 which was building one, floor three, room four. The room was clean and beautiful with great air-conditioning and had sliders to a terrific balcony that overlooks the ocean and the fireworks display which takes place a little further up the beach. There is also has a fantastic restaurant called Pelican Bay, which offers great food, and an outdoor bar by the pool complete with happy hour. On Sunday night there was live music, which was fantastic. On the beach there are plenty of lounge chairs with umbrellas so you can soak in the sun and get into the water quickly when you want to cool off. To walk into Grace Bay you can bike or walk the road or walk the beach - the bikes are provided by the resort. We had breakfast in Grace Bay at Julian‘s deli, Cassius bakery and island Scoop. Breakfast at Pelican Bay was excellent too! We also had dinner at Yoshis and at Rickey‘s Flamingo Club. Rickey‘s is a beach restaurant which has a real tiki bar atmosphere. There was live music there and that was fantastic. Our transportation was set up through vacation express /TCI escapes and their telephone number is 649–9 46–5004. The two drivers we had were professional, and their luxury SUVs were large, clean and comfortable. If you’re thinking of booking a trip, I would recommend Mike Peruggia at Great Escapes Travel, we book with Mike often and he never disappoints. In fact, I would say he goes above and beyond to make sure we have a great time. GoGreatEscapes@AOL.COM 1-718-948-1666
