We stayed at Kauai Shores for our honeymoon and it was great! Beach access, pool, hot tub, clean room, and free valet! Had Lava Lava restaurant connected too which was concvienant. However, that can be a bit overpriced. Good location on the east side, fairly split in between the island.

A wounerful home while away from home!

Beautiful property. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the art deco type colors in the room. The grounds and beach were lovely. At night the firepits were so cozy. The staff was outstanding and always helpfull. Would use again in the future.

Love this hotel!! It is smaller - 4 buildings, 2 stories each, has it's own private beach, is quiet and relaxed. Centrally located in Ka'paa off the main road that will take you wherever you want to go on this lovely little island! Super friendly staff, clean rooms and grounds well maintained, lovely toiletries, fun live music, bar and restaurant. Bikes for rent free. Also reasonably priced.

Nice beachfront, caution re “garden view” rooms

Stayed for 2 nights for exploring the east side of the island. The hotel has something of a Palm Springs vibe in terms of the buikdings’ decor. The lobby is newly updated and modern, while the hotel wings with the rooms are older and, although refreshed with paint, are wearing when you look closer (eg, washrooms). But comfortable. And having it’s own direct beach area was excellent (not many loungers available but the supplied beach towels sufficient). And convenient location close to town. Recommend people try Kenji’s burgers, Java Kai (coffee and breakfast) and Nom Kauai (breakfast). People have mentioned parking is tight - yes, the stalls require you to pay attention to the lines, but during our stay there was adequate parking available. Only really got busy one weekend evening (perhaps people going to the Lava Beach Club for a meal). One disappointment I had was the room category. We paid to ‘upgrade’ to a “Garden View” room. Our view was of the neighboring complex directly across the fence line (I’ll include a photo); no garden per se. Definitely feel it wasn’t worth paying extra for that room given the particular room we got; others may be better. And the other areas where there is a “garden” does not give a lush vegetation view; rather, it really means you don’t face the parking or the pool and there might be some bushes or trees. Just temper your expectations in that regard.
