Great spot in downtown Nashville

We stayed here over New Years and had a great time. Nice rooms for the price. We also enjoyed the hotel bar/restaurant in the lobby each night we were here. The service at the hotel, the marketplace, and the restaurant were all really good. We would definitely stay here next time we’re in Nashville.
That Southern Hospitality

Arriving to Nashville for the first time ever, this hotel was selected for the plus points via SWA. Google maps got us lost yet the city was also not in tune due to the AT&T bombing. The entrance is a tight squeeze and you have two options self park for $35 or $45 for valet parking. As we entered for our check in, that Southern hospitality shinned throughout our interactions. We had the 17th floor with two queen size beds. The bathroom has a modern look and has a good amount of supplies for a family of four. The beds are soft and sheets heavy enough to keep you warm during winter. The TV allows you to use your TV subscriptions and enough outlets to charge your electronics. The lobby has a Starbucks and open bar area. Due to Rona you're allowed one family or two people per elevator. The hotel is located one block from NHL stadium and an entire street of music bars or restaurants. It definitely looks like a fun area yet you do have a number of homeless in the area that can create some vexing situations. We enjoyed our stay and this hotel allows you comfort, hospitality and luxury for a family.
Great Hotel, Great Room!! Not so great bathroom
Reviewed by 780larryb(Nashville, Tennessee) on Nov 19, 2020
I would’ve given it 5/5 except for 1 thing, the bathroom. It looks as if the room we stayed in, a King Suite on the 19th floor, was once 2 rooms. It still has the door for both rooms, both room 1904 and 1902; and the dividing wall was just removed. Now, the room was very nice, decorated very well and modern, and no sign of it being retrofitted, other than the other door, AND THE BATHROOM!! For such a nice room, that bathroom was EXTREMELY disappointing. It is the regular small bathroom from the old room layout, and the tub is very cheap with shotty tile work, as well as a very disappointing shower head. I suggest, if all their king suites are conversions like that, get rid of the 2nd doorway and foyer, and expand the bathroom. A room of this caliber, AND COST, certainly deserves a more luxurious bathroom. A jacuzzi tub at the very minimum, and possibly a walk-in shower with rainfall head(s). Maybe they are wanting to keep the 2nd door to allow for reversion back to 2 rooms. If so, at least remove the tub and put in a nice walk-in shower with the rainfall head(s), or use the space that is there, and/or take some from the basically pointless kitchenette, and expand for a larger bathroom accommodation. Other than that, staff was very, very nice. I used the Bonvoy app to communicate, and for the most part, they were very responsive. I will add that the app did not work for unlocking my door, so I had to wait a few minutes for security to come up and let me in when I checked in; a minor inconvenience. I did not like getting nickel and dimed though, $8 for a 2 plates and 2 sets of silverware... odd. Also, there is a charging station, with lots of USB ports all over the bed side of the room also, thank you, but the charging station has a micro USB charger??? Every Android for about the past 2-3yrs has been on the USB-C port. Can we make that small upgrade? Renaissance has been here in Nashville for a long time, its good to see they’ve done well to stay updated and clean. Also, their COVID restrictions were very much appreciated, especially the elevator limits. For those looking for a view, this room faced directly south, towards the bulk of downtown Nashville (see pics), what the hotel call the Capital view. It had windows for the length of the room, which was fantastic. There were no close buildings, so no worries about privacy with the curtains open. This particular room (1904) looked directly over several blocks with a handful of other skyscrapers in view. Made for some good pics. Because of its direct south facing, you could not see the sunset or sunrise. Overall, we very much enjoyed the room and our stay.
Great Hotel Close to the Good Stuff

The Renaissance Nashville was a great place to stay on my recent trip to the Music City. Easy walk to the honky tonks on Broadway, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Ryman Auditorium, the State Capitol Building and Printers Alley. The lobby bar was a nice place to enjoy an evening drink after being out all day. Also very nice to see a hotel with a functional hot tub! Staff was all great and thanks to the front desk crew for the nice upgrade to the corner room. Was awesome to have such a wonderful view.

I have been with Marriott for a few years now and have always made it an effort to stay at Marriott brand hotels wherever I travel, when possible. This year, cleanliness is extremely important to make people feel safe to travel during this pandemic. Through airports, airplanes, Ubers, and every means of transportation, they take extra measures to make sure all travelers feel safe and have a peace of mind. I came to Nashville and chose to stay at Renaissance, thinking that it was central and walkable to the main attractions. I’ve always been a loyal member of Marriott and have always been treated well. When I arrived, they greeted me and had us check into our rooms immediately. I had book three rooms for a total of six guests for a three day weekend. They were able to accommodate us and put the rooms all next to each other. We didn’t need much since we made reservations at almost all the restaurants we went to and the bar at our hotel had restricted hours so we didn’t put much use to it. However, at the end of our stay, I typically try to help housekeeping out by stacking all the towels and dirty sheets together in one pile for them to clean and combining all the trash together. Hence you can imagine the SHOCK I had when I discovered that not only did they not wash my sheets.. they intentionally flip it over to cover the blood stain left from previous guest (see picture). I was so disgusted and reached out to management immediately. Their respond was.. a simple apology and they offered me 10,000 Bonvoy points. For those that are not familiar with the point system.. just to get one night comped stay at Renaissance, you need 50K points. So their offer is not only a joke, but their apology was not even sincere. So I asked for the matter to be escalated. Another manager had emailed me and asked me to reiterate the story to him. Afterwards, he offered me another 10K points. I told him that this is unacceptable and offering me points does not make this issue go away. COVID, or not, the sheets should always be washed. From the picture, you can clearly see that it has not even been run through the washer and they literally just flipped the mattress pad over to cover the stain. Again, I asked to be escalated, and they provided me with a phone number. The third time escalating this issue and they had promised to have someone reach out to me to give me reassurance that this will be handled. The reason why I was so concerned, was because I had booked four rooms at the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands for the following week (about $10K worth) and if they can’t resolve this matter, I’m not sure I want to stay at another resort of theirs. To sum it up, I never got a call back, never had any reassurance, and never went to St. Thomas. I ended up changing all my flights to go to Jamaica and have not stayed with any Marriott resorts ever since. It took me awhile just to post this review, but I feel that the public has the right to know. I am extremely disappointed with Marriott. I have over 100K points with them that will most likely go to waste. Hyatt and Hilton are just as good of worldwide brands that can accommodate my constant traveling needs. If you don’t mind sleeping on other people’s blood and body fluids, feel free to stay here. Otherwise, take your business elsewhere. There are so many other options and businesses that will actually value their customers. Membership, or not.
