Lounge service update

The Elevation Lounge continues to be open for your enjoyment and your safety is our top priority.  

In adherence with Transport Canada’s requirement, masks are still mandatory while travelling through the Calgary International Airport and must be worn at all times while inside the lounge, except while actively eating and drinking.

As of September 20, 2021, the WestJet Elevation Lounge will be implementing the Restriction Exemption Program to align with the Government of Alberta’s recent guidance. With this, our guests 12 and over will be required to provide one of the following to a WestJet Agent at the lounge entrance:


  • Valid paper or digital vaccine record that shows name, vaccine type and date of administration.    
  • From September 20 to October 24, 2021, proof of partial vaccination (one dose) is considered acceptable as long as the dose was given more than 2 weeks prior to visiting.
  • As of October 25, 2021, proof of full vaccination (two doses) is required.
  • Valid photo identification that matches the vaccine record is required for adults 18 and over.
  • Tests must be privately paid, Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR or lab-based PCR test completed within 72 hours prior.
  • Valid test results need to be a written or printed copy that clearly outlines the type of test, time of sample collection, clear indication of a negative result, and the laboratory that completed the test, if applicable.
  • Photos of a rapid test result taken offsite will not be accepted.
  • Do not bring completed self-tests or rapid tests due to communicable disease risk.
  • Tests must not be from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories.
  • The original signed letter from a physician or nurse practitioner that includes:
  • Person's name that matches their identification.
  • Physician’s or nurse practitioner’s complete information, including:
  • name, phone number, contact information, professional registration number and signature
  • statement that there is a medical reason for not being fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • duration that the exemption is valid

These requirements will be in place until further notice. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to work together to ensure the safety of all our guests.

Welcome to Elevation Lounge at the Calgary International Airport (YYC)

Location:

Domestic terminal, Concourse B, with access to guests travelling from Concourse A, B or C. Guests departing from Concourse D in the International terminal can access the lounge via security checkpoint B or C before proceeding to Concourse D.

Note: the lounge is not accessible to guests departing to the US.

Hours:

Open daily from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. MT.

Who can access Elevation Lounge?

  1. WestJet Rewards PlatinumGold and Silver members are eligible for complimentary lounge access based on their tier benefits.
  2. Guests travelling in the Business cabin of our Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners (including connections when a Business fare has been purchased) also enjoy complimentary access to the lounge.
  3. Delta Sky Miles® members with Diamond, Platinum or Gold Medallion® status travelling on an itinerary that includes a segment between Canada and the US operated by Delta and/or WestJet also enjoy complimentary access. Those holding a Delta One ticket also have access when Calgary (YYC) is part of the same-day international itinerary.
  4. Priority Pass, LoungeKey, LOUNGE CLUB and Diners Club members may access the lounge using their membership benefits.
  5. All other guests, including those travelling on other airlines, are welcome to access the lounge for a fee, payable on lounge entry.

The minimum age for unaccompanied entry into the lounge is 18. Minors under the age of 18 are permitted when accompanied by an adult.

Airline, airport and industry employees are not permitted access while in uniform or while wearing airline/airport identification of any kind. This includes employees of other airlines, private and corporate aircraft, and charter carriers.  

Complimentary access, where provided, is non-transferable and has no cash value.

How to access the lounge

  • All guests must present a valid boarding pass for a flight departing within 3 hours.
  • WestJet guests with complimentary access and travelling without companions can enter using our touchless self-serve entry to the left inside the entrance.
  • All other guests (including those with complimentary access and travelling with companions) are requested to see a WestJet agent at the podium inside the entrance.
  • The maximum stay in the lounge is 3 hours.

Pricing and payment

Guests travelling on a WestJet flight (WS boarding pass):

  • Adult: $59 + GST
  • Child (2 – 17 years): $30 + GST
  • Child under 2 years: no charge

Guests travelling with any other airline:

  • Adult: $65 + GST
  • Child (2 – 17 years): $33 + GST
  • Child under 2 years: no charge

Accepted forms of payment include Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Interac.

House rules 


  • To align with Transport Canada’s requirement all guests must wear a non-medical mask or face covering that covers their mouth and nose for the duration of their visit, except when actively eating or drinking. See Transport Canada’s guidance on acceptable masks and face coverings.
  • Guests are requested to respect physical distancing measures by staying at least two metres (six feet) away from others whenever possible.

  • Food and beverage provided in the lounge is for enjoyment while in the lounge only and is not to be removed. Outside food and beverage is also not permitted.
  • Alcoholic beverages will not be served to anyone under 18 years of age, in accordance with local laws and regulations.
  • Alcohol must be consumed in moderation. WestJet reserves the right to refuse to provide alcoholic beverages to any guest who appears to be intoxicated or is otherwise unruly.
  • Smoking cigarettes, pipes or cigars (including electronic products), chewing tobacco, and the use of smokeless tobacco or cannabis, are prohibited in the lounge.
  • Meeting space must be booked with a WestJet agent upon arrival in the lounge.
  • WestJet Rewards Platinum and Gold members may also reserve the space up to seven days in advance by calling their respective priority support number, available through the WestJet app.
  • Maximum occupancy: 4
  • Maximum duration: 45 minutes
  • Guests using the meeting space will be held responsible for any damage caused.
  • Private shower must be booked with a WestJet agent upon arrival in the lounge
  • Accessible shower available for guests with special needs
  • Maximum occupancy: 1 (exceptions apply when travelling with a child or a guest with special needs who requires assistance)
  • Maximum duration: 45 minutes
  • As a courtesy to other guests, please use headphones when using personal devices such as smartphones, laptops and tablets. For extended conversations and conference calls, please use a dedicated Focus Space located in the work area.
  • During your visit to WestJet Elevation Lounge, WestJet requires that your attire and conduct are appropriate. We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone wearing clothing which we deem to be inappropriate or offensive.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult in all areas of the lounge.
  • Families with small children are invited to enjoy the dedicated family space near the guest assistance desk. Even while in the family space, children need to be supervised at all times.  
  • On-duty service animals and service dogs in training are always welcome.
  • Pets are permitted when in an approved cabin carrier only. Pets must remain in the approved carrier for the duration of the stay. 
  • WestJet will not be held responsible for any items lost or stolen in the lounge. Please do not leave items unattended.
  • Airport baggage carts may not be brought into the lounge.
  • Large baggage items and mobility assistance devices may be placed in the storage area at your own risk.
  • Solicitation of any kind is not permitted while in the lounge.
  • WestJet may, at its sole discretion, refuse access to, or remove guests from the Elevation Lounge if their behaviour is disruptive or in violation of the house rules above. Please be aware that your removal from the Elevation Lounge may have consequences for the continuation of your travel.  
  • WestJet reserves the right to update the house rules at any time, without notice.
