Good but be aware: Villa del Palmar is not the same everywhere

I am comparing to my experience at Villa del Palmar in Cancun last year. Same hotel chain, same brand, same experience, right? Think again. Villa del Palmar Los Cabos is a couple of notches bellow Villa del Palmar Cancun. From a very restrictive kids club, to the less restaurant options, to the lack of a bar serving on actual glasses (versus begging to be served wine in a plastic cup) when you are waiting for dinner reservation, to the lack of water activities, or not so nice dinner options. I brought this up during my check out and it is true that the price is lower in Los Cabos than in Cancun. However, I'd expect the same experience in the same chain and same brand. So be aware, the Villa group is not consistent. On the up side: the sea and scenery is way nicer than in Cancun, it's a small property, service was giod despite the annoying tabs even with all inclusive. Highlight: Nayeli! Nayeli served my family by the pool on 6 out 7 days and she was outstanding. Great suggestions, got to onow our kids names, and was always trying to make sure we were happy. Nayeli alone helped overcome most of the Los Cabos vs Cancun shortcomings. Also, the Taco Bar serving sushi and sashimi was nice. But in Cancun you can get great ceviches at you pool chair without having to go to a restaurant. Again, Nayeli smoothed the edges. Can't say say higher for a waitress.

This property has been a great experience. The pools are big and relaxing. Plenty of lounge chairs. The buffets have been delicious and the Carbon restaurant was top notch! The beef was cooked perfectly and the service was excellent. Definitely will come back again.
