Staff is like family. We have been to this resort multiple times. Activities around pool are entertaining. Lupita, Marley and Karla are great.

I loved my stay at the Buenaventura Grand. The hotel is very well located. It's close enough from the Malecon that we can easily get there walking, but not too close so that it's not too noisy at night. The staff was great! Everyone was nice, smiling, always saying "hola" and willing to go out of their way to help. My room was as expected. The balcony doesn't really have a view on the ocean (I could see it in the distance), but I wasn't in my room very often, except to change and sleep. So it didn't bother me, but for those who would like an ocean view, there are rooms you can get for a little more. The bed was comfortable, the shower had enough pressure to wash my hairs, and the A/C was ok. Food at the buffet was tasty, but not hot enough. It was either warmish or cold. Some would find there is a lack of diversity, but personnally I didn't mind. I loved the offering and was never hungry. The restaurants are very good. The Sunset restaurant is opened for breakfast and lunch as well, which is great. And the food we can ordre by the pool/beach were a perfect addition. The beach is not a nice white sandy beach with clear water. The beach is rather rocky, the water is cold and some have a hard time going out of the ocean. That didn't bother me as I'm not a swimmer per se. But if you're looking for a dream beach, it's not the one for you. But we saw whales pretty often directly from our chair, that's a plus! The pools were exactly what I was looking for. Not too big, but not too small. The water temperature was perfect for me (I hate cold water!). For both the beach and the pool areas, there are a lot of chairs. But there is not enough umbrellas for everyone. So people would rush in the morning to put their towels on a shaded chair and, sometimes, leave their belongings on the chair all day, even if they are not there. At several occasions, I saw chairs in the shade that were empty all afternoon. There is supposed to be a policy of removing belongings if the chairs are not used, but it was not applied. So if you were arriving at the end of the morning or early afternoon, you would end up on a chair without shade... Something to improve. All in all, I loved my stay and if I'm ever in Puerto Vallarta again, I would definitely go back to the Buenaventura!

Small resort, very clean with fantastic staff and very nice amenities. Great location in walking distance to old town. Best of both worlds - all inclusive with access to the town. Loved it

Wonderful family friendly resort!! The Kids Club is phenomenal, especially Sofia and Andrea!!!

We had a wonderful experience and excellent service with Michelle and Celso! They both went above and beyond their duties and helped us celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary. Thank you to them.
