????? Best Stay in Mexico — and I Was Skeptical at First I’ll be honest — I almost didn’t book the Occidental. After reading through some of the reviews and seeing a handful of negative experiences, I had real reservations. But I’m so glad I pushed past that hesitation, because this turned out to be the best hotel stay I’ve had in Mexico, and that’s saying a lot. For the past five years, I’ve made an annual trip to Cancun for dental work, and each year I’ve tried a different hotel. I’ve had good stays and forgettable ones. The Occidental blew them all out of the water. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process was smooth and completely pressure-free — no hard upsells, no confusion, just a warm welcome. The staff throughout the entire property were genuinely friendly, not in a rehearsed way, but in a way that made you feel like a valued guest. That warmth carried through every interaction, every day. The food was excellent. Again — I’ve stayed at several all-inclusives in the area over the years, and the quality here stood out. Plenty of variety, consistently good, and never disappointing. Checkout was just as seamless as check-in. No surprise charges, no billing confusion, no awkward back-and-forth — my bill was exactly what it should have been. That kind of clean, no-drama experience means more than people might realize. If you’re on the fence because of some mixed reviews, I’d encourage you to book with confidence. My experience was nothing short of exceptional, and I’ll absolutely be returning next year.

The staff at this property was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and nice, they remembered what we drank at the bars. Pool was very nice. Rooms were clean. Overall very good stay??

The staff were great and the location was good. A little noise from traffic in our side or the building, but nothing major. Most rooms are great, but some do face the car park which lets it down a little. Overall a great stay. Clean and great staff!

Second time staying and still excellent. Great friendly hard working staff and good food. Clean rooms and resort.

My experience was horrible 6 days with a big leaking on my room with out anyone from the hotel helping us to solve the problem
