OK, but would pay extra for a nicer resort.

Hotel is dated. I was told they are remodeling some of there rooms, so if you get one of those it would be ok. I would have liked to have had more food options. They say there are 6 restaurants available, but if you are not preferred, you can't use some. The menus were very limited. The staff was great, and our room was always cleaned well.
Great First Time in Cozumel!

I was a little nervous going to this resort from the reviews I saw, but my partner and I were glad we did! The highlights of our trip were the entertainment staff (Arbey and Diego), as well as the incredible a la cart food. We had so much fun with Diego and Arbey, from aqua aerobics, to pool volleyball, to dance class - those two really do it all and they do it well. Give them a raise because they without a doubt made our stay! These were some of our favourite activities. We were also really looking forward to snorkelling as well, but were disappointed that the resort did not have free snorkelling equipment as was advertised. Apparently they are longer affiliated with the company who was providing it. At the gift shop, They sell snorkles for 50usd or you can pay for an excursion for around the same price. So we ended up doing the excursion with the jolly moon and really enjoyed it. But it would have been nice to explore one of the benefits of this resort (the aquatic life), which is really a few steps off the beach. So if you want snorkling, bring your own equipment or head out on the jolly moon - their staff are incredible and you will have a great time with them! Our favourite restaurants were gohan, Bordeaux, and Windows. I thought Bordeaux had the best deserts out of all of them. During the week the wait times were non existent, but the waits went up drastically at the restaurants during the weekend, so be prepared for that and know that if you want in at gohan, you may need to line up before it opens. Room service was also phenomenal - especially breakfast (Get the French toast and fruit, and you wont regret it!). Something that caught us off guard was the lack of foods we were really expecting to see in mexico though; no salsa, no churros, and fajita ingredients were at the buffet but with no tortillas or taco shells. The room was awesome! We had a beautiful view overlooking the manatee bar and pool. We were nervous about the rooms after seeing some reviews, but we were happy with ours. Are the rooms damp? Yes - but you are in a humid climate so that is expected. Once the room was aired out, it was way better, but still had that damp smell. I can tell they were trying to help with that - they had scented wax melters around the resort and scented sticks in the room you can burn. They also had scented toilet paper - which as a woman I was not a fan of (please just put regular unscented toiletries in the bathroom secrets!). We also read lots of reviews about the ‘presentation’ that many said not to go to since it takes way more time and really is about them trying to sell you a time share. That is still happening but they don’t advertise it transparently as what it is, or even that you have an option to say no. Instead, your ‘designated welcome person’ invites you to a ‘free breakfast to learn about the resort’. The person who was assigned to us was Ambar; she showered us in all sorts of compliments and offered us cheaper massages at the spa to go; it felt very pushy and love-bomby. Then, the moment we said no, her demeanour completely changed. She became very passive aggressive (telling us we are making her look bad by saying no, rolling her eyes at us etc.). It was really off putting, and left a bad taste in our mouth. We totally get that it is part of her job, but there are ways to increase guest engagement that are still kind and respectful of boundaries. Overall we were really happy with our stay. Again, the food and the entertainment staff ( Arbey and Diego) really made it what it was. The weather was perfect, the beach was stunning - what more could you ask for!
