The Doubletree By Hilton West Edmonton is along 109Ave/170 street, a 5 mins from the bus stop. To get to hotel, a tourist has to get a shuttle from Airport arrival by bus 747 to Century Park station. From Century Park, board the LRT ( Light Rsil Transit) to Clareview station for bus 54 to 107St/ 109Avenue. Ask driver to drop off bus stop.
The hotel is in close proximity of West Edmonton Mall ( Bus 54) and to travel to interesting places, take the LRT from Clareview Station. Accomodation in the hotel is average and buffet is below average. I didn’t like the bacon and scrambled eggs as they were overdone and salty. The bacons were not in bacon strips but in chunks. F&B staffs were not attentive and service was average compared to other hotels which I have stayed. Bottles of water in room costs $2.00 each which were $0.89 each in the Mall, The front office Staff were not familiar with bus system ( LRY/ETS) and they insisted that the client take taxi or UBER. Room service had to be booked a day before for cleaning.
Hotel management held their daily discussion n the F&B area with dining clients??
Lastly there was no hotel shuttle to ferry hotel clients from 170St/109Ave to hotel or hotel to West Edmonton Mall. In fact, this hotel is suited to clients who loved walking long distances in hot weather and bathed with sweat. No soap bar unless ask housekeeping department.
Hopefully the Doubletree by Hilton West Edmonton will improve itself in areas mentioned in this review.
Noisy, dirty, crowded
Jul 11, 2022
I stayed for business after having great experiences in the past. This time, the hotel was extremely noisy and overcrowded with a large tournament. Children were running in halls, the bar!!!, in the lobby and also the fitness centre and pool. The breakfast is lovely so I a work there one morning, and in the business centre the next as I was unable to concentrate being located next to the hockey suite on the 9th floor. Outside of the elevator, pizza boxes were piled and takeout containers were everywhere in the hallway. My room had quite a large red stain (blood?!) on my living area carpet.. I filled out a survey and only got a “sorry - hope you stay again!” From the hotel management.
