Terrible attitude at check in
Ahmed S (Norwalk, Connecticut) on May 01, 2026
Terrible check in attitude by Nhi, the front desk person and her manager Jeff Ellis. Arrived at 3:35pm room is not ready for a harbor view. And if I want to check in now she wants to downgrade not upgrade. 101 hospitality is not met at all levels.
Not up to Marriott standards

There are a lot of hotels under the Marriott banner and they are all of different qualities. When I see the Marriott name on the building, I have a certain expectation. This location did not meet the standard I expected. Starting with the lobby. Nothing special. Restaurant is basically a pub and the room was small. I must say that the most important things I need in a room is clean towels and clean sheets and they did have that but there are other things that make a stay enjoyable. Like thick walls which room 639 did not have. I could hear the guy talking in the next room, his snoring and alarm clock in the morning. There was also a huge gap between the floor and the door which let a lot of light in during the night. Bathroom also had very poor lighting. Overall like I said, just not up to the Marriott name.

Clean and accommodating. Very friendly staff. The restaurant and bar had very comfortable seating arrangements and the food was delicious.
Amazing Hotel, Amazing Team, Amazing Birthday
Johana N (Bogota, Colombia) on Apr 16, 2026
What an incredible team at this hotel! Everyone was exceptionally kind and welcoming throughout our four-day stay while we celebrated my birthday. I’ve had great experiences with Marriott before, but this was truly the best one yet. A special thank you to Reilly at the front desk—he was outstanding, and we’re so grateful for his kindness and professionalism. Abigail also took wonderful care of our room, always making sure everything was perfect. We also appreciated the friendliness and attention from Jeff, Alex, Amish, and everyone else we had the pleasure of interacting with. From the front desk to the restaurant team, the level of service was consistently excellent. Every interaction made us feel valued and at home. Thank you all for making our stay so memorable!
Good for both business or leisure

This hotel is a good option whether visiting Halifax for business or leisure. It is conveniently located on the Boardwalk and also only a short walk awqy from the downtown area. The rooms are large with big, comfortable beds and some on the higher floors also have view of the water. Loved that they have a super well equipped, large gym which is open 24/7. Didn’t try the restaurant, only their cafe which has good options for a quick breakfast, both savory and sweet as well as coffees, chai and matcha. Unfortunately it closes already at 2pm. There are cheaper accommodation options in Halifax but considering it all, this Marriott is good value for money.
