The dining room was closed and we were put in a smaller area with very uncomfortable seats. It was Christmas Day2023 and it was the worst Christmas dinner I have ever had. The turkey was tasteless and the vegetables were over cooked and the gravy had a strange taste. We had to request cranberry sauce and it was very tasteless when it was finally brought to us. We will not be back!

I was going to Halifax for business, and, given it was our anniversary, my wife joined me. Great (and reasonable) hotel, right on the boardwalk. Room was very clean, and the staff was super friendly (house keeping even left us an anniversary cake when we were out to celebrate!).

Great check in experience. Was offered like check out and acknowledged my titanium status. Front desk agent was friendly and knowledgeable. See less experience. Changed hotels to the Muir and wish I had stayed at Marriott instead.
Room was great. They had suites available but only ungraded me to a harbour view king which is not a huge deal. Bed was bloody amazing so comfortable. Room was clean-hats off housekeeping for doing a great job. Lounge only has set hours and is not grab and go unfortunately. Would have liked to grab a snack outside of breakfast or eve if. Canapés.
It’s a different sort of system where you order items from a set menu and they’re made to order which was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend the hotel. Great location , rooms and staff.
Wish I stayed instead charging to Muir. If your tossing up between the two places , go for the Marriott harbour front

Large convention styled hotel, right on the waterfront and a short walk to the Casino.Staff are super polite, and helpful. Fast registration, good sized room. The business lounge isn't always open, however the breakfast there is better than most Bonvoy lounges, served at your table. The restaurant had what I would describe as possibly the best seafood chowder I have ever had. Overall, a great stay.
If not for the noisy loud sad lobby music I would give this hotel a 5 out of 5 rating

The Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel has the best location in the city. Whether it is the direct walk onto the waterfront boardwalk or looking out windows on a rainy day the harbour is there. No other hotel is as close to that million dollar view. Staff is excellent at the front desk, in the restaurant and banqueting. The pool is large, whirlpool hot, no saunas. However as I have complained before the piped in music in this hotel lobby/open restaurant/bar/business area is just not good. It is loud music. It is sad music about relationship breakups with voices raising in anguish. Not one is jolly or having a happy day. Maybe the sad tone of the female singers is to induce more drinking in the bar. Instrumental, local, celtic melodies, would be better. Storytelling sad music does not make a great background and loud keeps it from being in the background. It is almost so bad that it is funny. I have seen the staff who stand to greet people with good morning which is very nice touch, strain to hear return comments. One morning it seemed less intrusive but that night there was live entertainment in the open lobby bar and the 'sad elevator' music continued to blare in competition. Uncomfortable to stay in the lobby and socialize, must be tough on the staff. It is said that 30% of people have acute hearing sensitivity that eliminates going to loud games, concerts or places where sounds are too loud. I have been know to wear earplugs. I have been in other Marriot Hotels with different levels of brands and this is the only one where the music intrudes. I have been to other venues where music is too loud and I can leave. This location is for business purposes so I am a hearing victim if I want to meet people in lobby. Average 12 visit stays per year. Meeting rooms are fine as long as the doors are closed. If it was not for the sad loud lobby music I would give this hotel a 5 out of 5 rating.
