We enjoyed our stay. The double queen suite was fantastic with two TVs and a kitchenette. It was easy to get to the Boardwalk, and to the Citadel.
(f I could suggest anything, I would ask for a usb port by the table, and I would have liked little creamers for our coffee/tea station rather than powdered cream.)
Hot Halifax Hollis!

This hotel is in a great location as it is close to the waterfront, nice local restaurants and other attractions. The room was designed well and we were generally pleased. That is where the compliments end. A couple of small observations: one of the people in my travelling group did not have an ironing board in their room; the bed was slightly sunken in, in the middle; the hook was missing from the back of the bathroom door so I no where to hang my toiletry bag or anything else. And believe it or not, it is important to have a luggage rack available. The big issue, as the previous reviews stated, was the broken air conditioning and that made for a very uncomfortable and stuffy room. The tiny fan provided by the hotel was not very helpful either. The sign on the door stating "they were working on the air conditioner," however, we were told that it had been broken for months! Now, I understand that the temperature is cooler in Canada, but that does not make up for a stuffy room. Also, what is taking the hotel so long to fix the problem? Money? That is probably the case, but I wonder if it's because they are too cheap to spend the amount necessary to complete the repairs. This is June and it's only going to get warmer. It is unfortunate that I am unable to recommend the Hollis to anyone until they fix this issue.
