The experience was awesome

Everything was well prepared and the quality was awesome. The staff were very accommodating. We were able to check in flawelessly even arriving in the evening. The room was clean and all the facilities and amenities were great! Will be the go to hotel whenever visiting Halifax.

Just ok for a suite and the cost

Service was good. Had a junior suite and it is very dated and run down. Bed was not comfortable at all. Noisy due to pool elevator. Bathroom was so tiny for such a huge suite. Room just seemed to be poorly laid out. Parking and breakfast vouchers were included in our package. Nice touch was the welcome birthday sparkling wine and cake.

Home Away From Home

The Westin Nova Scotian has been our home-away-from-home for over three decades. The staff are a huge part of the experience. We are already looking forward to returning to Halifax in October. The Westin hotel in Halifax never disappoints.

Nice stay but rooms and common areas need an overhaul ... ASAP

Positives: Good food, right near the port and urban boardwalk, very friendly staff, knowledgeable doormen, gym is functional, elevators are mostly efficient. Negatives: This property is tired. Carpets in rooms need to be removed and replaced with faux hardwood. Bathrooms need a refresh. Furniture is heavy-old and not wired for 2024 (etc: USB-C). Ceiling in Room 904 was pockmarked. Rooms feel dingy and dark ... more neutral and modern paint pallets and re-upholstery is required. Bottom Line: The box/bones of this legacy CN hotel are what they are, but an aesthetic rooms and hallways refresh is badly needed. The state of this property is an affront to what the WESTIN brand should look and feel like ... is can and should be so much more!

The room was dated and in need of update. The bed, though, was comfortable, Television easy to use. WiFi was slow. I had two meals in the restaurant that were good. I believe the room was overpriced for the quality of lodging. There is probably better value elsewhere.
