Disappointing in lots of ways

Kinkell (Scotland) on Feb 03, 2023

As a HH member and stayed in a lot of Hilton’s Paying cash and accruing points. I decided to use the points for a 5 night stay at Embassy Suites. TA reviews were very positive and I was quite encouraged by the reviews. Oh dear. Our room is dark, dingy. drab and very 70’s in design and furnishings it’s on a level above reception and 2 levels below the pool. The outlook is almost at street level and thus makes it very dark. You wouldn’t want to sit on the balcony… even on the 2 rusting metal chairs . I’ve shown my loyalty to Hilton over the years , I don’t see a shred of loyalty to me where our room is near the telephone room, electrical room, linen room . I’m sure the type of room booked is available in both the Embassy towers, but they choose to contemptuously put their loyal guests on points bookings in the worst rooms. There is a ‘happy hour’ where the exchange of tickets get free drink. This is sloshed into the plastic (ok it’s near the pool) cup no particular care taken. I was shouted at by the barman when asking where the snacks were as it was far from obvious. Snacks…. Crisps, peanuts, celery and a dip.. many places do better. Breakfast advertised as free and individual. Queuing for an omelet in a long line, meanwhile coffee toast getting cold. It’s a scrum and very canteen like. All in all it’s disappointing. Upgrade? $60 per night! All other hotels welcome us , thank us for our loyalty and give a complimentary upgrade.Embassy Suites.. up your game and treat customers better.

Vacation

The high rise hotel had a fire alarm on January 19th caused a complete evacuation. The staff never communicated to the guests in the street and lobby what happened and how it was resolved. It was the worst handled fire alarm I have experienced in my life out of dozens.

Best location and service

sharm0428 on Jan 27, 2023

Everything is perfect in this property just a few walks to the beach with shopping just in the area, very convenient for everything. Would come back to this hotel again and again. Breakfast was so good and most importantly the service here is excellent everyone is so friendly and helpful.

5 star stay! Cant wait to return

Matt O on Jan 24, 2023

the Embassy Suite provided my friends and I with an incredible stay. The location of the hotel was great - it was a quick walk to many restaurants, bars, shops and much more. Close to the beach as well. The staff was amazing and very friendly and responsive. I was pleasantly surprised by the communication of the staff, they checked in on me and my friends to see if we needed any recommendations or anything to improve our stay. Would absolutely stay here again - 5 stars!

Endless Aloha Summer

Goldaustralia on Jan 22, 2023

Our family’s first time in Waikiki. Location: Not exactly beach front but yet, you can still have a glimpse of the ocean if you happen to get a room with an “ocean view”. We had an “ocean view” which is good enough. Location suites me as I’m a surfer. Surf board rentals at Big Wave Dave’s so it’s very handy as I get to keep my rental board. They provide locker for storage. Pretty central to everything and walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops. Rooms: Big room, extra bed (sofa bed) was provided for our children. Room is cleaned every other day. Our designated floor housekeeper (she’s a filipina) is very good at detailing and always keep our room clean. Bring your important toiletries like toothbrushes as they are not provided in the amenities. Noise is blocked from the outside so it’s very good. Nothing exciting about the decor. Unlike those luxury hotels and accomodation that we have stayed in Asia. FOOD: Happy hour is provided, complimentary drinks at the bar. Free snacks provided. Breakfast is a meh for us. Nothing exciting. VALUE FOR MONEY: Prepare to spend a lot of money when you’re in Waikiki as it’s not cheap here. With the amount we pay for the accomodation, overall verdict is not really worth it. I guess, you only pay much because it’s near the beach and that’s about it. Inflation is really felt everywhere. Expect payingextra “resort fee” in your bill. Overall experience in Waikiki, is still good enough. We’re from Australia, Gold Coast and we have the best beaches. And it’s free. But yet, it’s still a memorable aloha experience.
