Good property, bad globalist benefits.

Good property, bad WOH benefits. Lack of any meaningful globalist recognition (breakfast, amenities) kind of spoils this property’s value for frequent Hyatt travelers. Good stay otherwise with friendly front desk.
Perfect spot for our family

This was our first day at this hotel. The suite was perfect for myself and my three kids. Plenty of room for everyone. The kids especially loved taking care of the fish. The pool is better suited for adults to lounge, but the hot tub was perfect for us after an end of day surf session. There was a hiccup with our TV, but we were moved to a new room and the problem was solved.
Would come back any time

We received a very warm welcome for our honeymoon at the hotel. The location was super convenient and the room really nice and clean. Perfect for a few days in Waikiki.
Clean, Modern, and Great Housekeeping — but Some Drawbacks

I had a nice stay at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki, though I’m not sure I would return. First, the positives: The hotel is very clean and modern, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The standout of my stay was the daily housekeeping service — truly exceptional thanks to my floor’s wonderful housekeeper, Lea. Seeing her each day made me feel genuinely cared for, and her attention to detail was impeccable. She absolutely made my stay. As expected for a Hyatt Centric, the property is right in the middle of the action — ideal if you need to be in Waikiki. Check-in is on the 8th floor, and the guest rooms run from the 7th floor up to around the 17th floor. The splash-pad pool is, as many have mentioned, a bit underwhelming, but it’s better than nothing. It’s located next to the lobby on the 7th floor, where it gets very windy — so even if the pool were larger, I’m not sure it would be an enjoyable place to spend much time. Now, the downsides: I would avoid the suites. This is the first time I’ve ever wished I hadn’t booked one. I arrived at 2:30pm and ended up waiting until 4:30pm for my room (check-in is at 3:00pm). When I finally got inside, I discovered that the suites directly overlook the pool, which means very little privacy and a lot of noise — kids yelling, echoes, general activity. It felt uncomfortable. I asked to be moved and waited until 7:30pm for another room, only to be told it still needed another hour to be prepared. That room also would have been directly next to the check-in desk. Ultimately, I gave up on the suite I originally booked and switched to a regular room — which was larger than expected, away from the noise, and ready immediately at 7:30pm. It was frustrating to spend most of my Saturday night in Waikiki waiting on rooms that weren’t actually available. To be fair, the hotel was full due to flight cancellations related to the government shutdown, so they were clearly in a tough spot. Still, it was a long and tiring experience after an early flight. Another drawback: this hotel used to have a restaurant, and you can tell — the empty dining area now feels like a missing piece. There’s plenty of food nearby, but having no on-site option does bring the value down, especially for Hyatt Globalists. Overall: Once I was finally checked in, I had a comfortable stay. The hotel sits among tall buildings, so there aren’t true ocean views, but the rooms themselves are bright, clean, and pleasant. Waikiki caters heavily to Japanese and Korean tourists, so the Japanese bidet-style toilets were a great surprise. I would stay here again if I were visiting Honolulu for business. But for a Hawaiian vacation, I would have been disappointed — the experience feels more like a standard downtown hotel, just without a restaurant and with potential long waits for the room you actually booked. If you stay here, I’d definitely avoid the suites.
A+ location, clean, spacious, and updated modern room.

Checked in as Globalist got upgraded to a very spacious room. Fresh, bright, big enough open all of our luggage on the floor and very clean hardwood/vinyl flooring. Bathroom is spacious and recently updated. Self parked Garage parking is easy breezy on level 6. Just drive to level 6, take your luggage to lobby level. You can go in and out for $35 a night. Front desk is professional and get things done lighting speed. Water filter system make life very easy. A+ location stone throw to EVERYTHING! There is a small pool and hot tub. Small fitness room. Good enough for city hotel. I would return!
