Hidden fees!!!!!

Karaboo13 on Feb 03, 2023

Other than the view this hotel sucks. Upon arrival they said we’d have an additional $45 a night for amenities! Like the ELEVATOR!!!!!! Because the $300 we already spent doesn’t cover that WTF. $50 a night to valet which you wait forever to get your car!!!! The employees are nice but I do not recommend this hotel! You can find a better hotel for a better price. This company just wants to take your money!

Great location, poor front desk service and LOTS of charges

B326KCmattm (New York City, New York) on Feb 03, 2023

This hotel is cute and nice location and rooms are sufficient. The front desk service was not very helpful, the bellhops were much kinder and easy to work with. I upgraded to an ocean view room which had a tiny sliver of water view and when I brought this to their attention she told me “anything you can see any water from is considered a ocean view”. The charge was exuberant considering what was promised and response was quite rude to be honest. One elevator was broken the entire stay as well so getting to the room was a timely hassle. This will be the last time I stay here.

Great choice

The Queen Kapiolani was a great hotel! We were upgraded to a junior suite with a Diamond Head view even though we only booked a standard room with a city view. It was in a quieter part of Waikiki but still really close to the beach and restaurants. It was super convenient having a coffee shop and restaurant on the property. The room and property was very clean. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Always enjoy staying at Queen Kapiolani!

kennethnhansen (Fresno, California) on Feb 01, 2023

This is the 5th time I've stayed at Queen Kap. I like that it's at the quieter end of Waikiki, and is convenient to places like the zoo, the aquarium, and the beaches. It's a very nice hotel with great views of Lea'hi (Diamond Head) and the ocean. The rooms were recently renovated and are very comfortable. I had a great room with a king size bed and a balcony with fantastic views! It is convenient to great restaurants, but if you don't feel like going anywhere Knot's Coffee and Deck are great places to get food without leaving the hotel. Candace and Jess at the bar at Deck are great! There are also good food trucks in the alley behind the hotel. The hotel staff, including management, the front desk, bell hops, and housekeeping are all friendly and helpful. I visit Honolulu every year for a conference and will definitely stay at Queen Kap again.

Lots of bang for your buck!

Ramblingirl (Eugene, Oregon) on Jan 31, 2023

This hotel represents a lot of bang for your buck. It's very clean, and the staff, including housekeeping, are lovely. In addition, food at the on-site restaurant, Deck, is excellent. But its biggest strength, in my opinion, is the location adjacent to Kapiolani Park. From our lanai we had a completely unimpeded view of Diamond Dead, the ocean, and the park. I spent a significant amount of time sitting on the lanai luxuriating in the view and the breeze. In addition, the hotel is literally steps from the beach, and also within blocks of restaurants and shops. The only reason I assigned four rather than five stars is that our room was smaller than we feel comfortable in. We'll go back, but opt for a junior suite next time.
